Matt Jansen, Seth Johnson and another player have been suspended for playing for England for three months after a breach of discipline during the under 21 championships. And there we all were thinking Matt was a nice church going boy.

Three England Under-21 players have received three month international suspensions for visiting a bar during the European Championships.

Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie, Blackburn striker Matt Jansen and Derbymidfielder Seth Johnson have been hit with the suspension for breaking a curfew in Slovakia.

The Football Association penalised the players and the ban will come into force from the start of next season.

The trio were discovered to have broken a curfew at the team hotel and drunkalcohol at a nearby bar on a non-match night between the under-21 side's secondand third games of the tournament.

Howard Wilkinson, the FA's technical director who was in charge of the side,discovered the breach of discipline the following morning and action has nowbeen taken against the trio.

The FA said in a statement: "As a consequence of a breach of disciplineduring the recent Uefa Under-21 Championships in Slovakia, the FA have suspendedthree players from international selection for a period of three monthscommencing at the start of next season.

"The players concerned are Lee Hendrie of Aston Villa, Matt Jansen ofBlackburn Rovers and Seth Johnson of Derby County.

"All three excluded themselves from the team hotel in Slovakia and consumedalcohol on a non-match day during the tournament.

"This was contrary to team disciplinary instructions and was dealt withaccordingly.

"The FA will make no further comment on this matter."

The three players are not understood to have caused any trouble at the baropposite the team hotel yet still broke the strict instructions of Wilkinson

Sums Wilkinson up for me. What a tosser. Three young guys, all over 18 and therefore adults, decided to go and have a few beers and no doubt talk to some ladies and he kicks up a stink. If he wants to foster a team atmosphere he should be forcing them to go out and enjoy themselves. He really is a w@nker of the highest order.
