Rumours have it that Nicky Butt is off to Sporting Lisbon where he will join his ex team mate Peter Scmeichel.

Paul Okon (of Fiorentina) and Christian Karembeau (of Real Madrid) have been signed by Middlesbrough. Therefore Paul Gasgoine has been freed by Brian Robson.

John Scales is on his way to Ipswich.

Jordi Cruyff prefers Spain to West Ham or Southampton.

Real Madrid have received an offer of 5,000 million pesetas (anyone what that is in pounds?) from PSG. Anelka has already said he wants to go there but Real chairman Sanz must decide whether to accept the offer.

Regi Blinker of Celtic apparently wants to go to either Italy or Spain.

Norwich have signed 26 year old Gateano Giallanza from French club Nantes.

Gordon Durie seems to be on his way to Northerh Spirit in Australia, a club very friendly with Ranges already.

Pavel Srnicek, might not after all be on his way to Napoli, but maybe to Atalanta or Brescia, both in Italy, after contract talks broke down with Napoli.

And finally...Staphane Henchoz has prolonged his contract for another year with Liverpool.

I spose I should do my bit !

From the world of Ron Noades ..

Brian Sparrow has left Brentford as coach and has been replaced by ex-Wimbledon coach Wally Downes.

The Bees have announced their squad for the coming season - surprisingly Andy Woodman has been given the number one shirt despite a number of their fans being critical of him last year.

Ex-Palace lads Danny (come home) Boxall, Robert (useless in any position) Quinn and Tony (put weight on and lost form) Folan are 2,4 and 14 respectively. Gareth Graham and Richard Kennedy are still there as well.

Brentford have signed two players - Paul Gibbs (a right or left back) from Plymouth and some Icelandic 6 foot 3 keeper from Hibs who's name I can't remember and probably doesn't matter anyway !

Carl Cort has left Wimbledon to join Newcastle on a 5 year contract.

Nicky Butt said nothing about a transfer when I bumped into him at the Jumeirah Beach in Dubai 3 weeks ago.

He was unhappy at being excluded from the England squad for Euro 2000 though.

Revelations in the Nicky Butt affair. There dould be a possible swap between Nicky Barmby and Nicky Butt, with Everton also getting money out of it.

Emile Mpenza could be on his way to Tottenham for £8 million, while it is rumoured that Carl Cort cost Newcastle £7 million.

Leeds are also rumoured to be signing 19 year old Australian midfielder Ivan Ergic of Perth Glory. Other clubs such as Juventus, Hertha Berlin, Borussia Dortmund and Hadjuk Spalato also want him. He would however cost Leeds £2 million

Who was the "wonder" winger we sold to brentford for peanuts, who was now top drawer? Has he now shown his true potential and is playing for their reserves?

Luis Figo is reportedly the subject of a £38.1m bid from Real Madrid.

The fee is his get out clause but it looks like a stunt from the prospective new president as signing Barca's number one player would be a huge vote winner for the guy.

Being a Barca man myself, Madrid can have him over my dead body.

I thank you.

That would be Tony Folan who spent a lot of last season injured and out of form (he scored a cracker of a Beckham goal a season ago at the Brentford/Cambridge game James and I went to).

Current rumours suggest he *might* be off to Galway !!

Im afraid that statement is libellous and could lead to closure of the BBS. I'd move it Deano b4 big Dave and his crew remove you for breach of the peace.

Is he really a nonce though?
