Just a thought. As we have wooden elements to 2 of our stands would the imminent fire strike on Friday (for 48 hours) effect the chances of the Grimsby game being on? I just seem to recall some panic about this for the Walsall away game, that's all.

A couple of weeks ago,I think in the Times there was a report that some football grounds safety certificates, had a clause requiring a fire engine on site, Selhurst along with Chesterfield were mentioned.

Well that's odd, because I've NEVER seen a fire engine anywhere near Selhurst Park !

There have certainly been fire engines called out prior to games in the past - I think, as a public venue more than one has to arrive if there is a call out.
However I heard on the radio that the firefighters strike would not affect the football fixtures.

Completely selfish but Saturday's game being postponed would be a dream come true for me as I can't make the game - I'm at a Wedding in Stoke. :(

Saturday's game being off would probably bankrupt both Palace fanzines... just a thought!

It is family day on Saturday.
Palace promise loads of balloons, face painting, childrens activities and a free Kit-Kat with every purchase made at the Palace food bars.
It says in the Forest programme 'A day not to be missed'.

Preston are closing one stand for the next two games due to the strike but I've not heard about us doing anything similar.

i doubt that the match would be called off, there would just be extra safety precautions in place

If you've seen that stand, you'd understand why.

I hope it didn't mention that they get to meet Fireman Sam that day as well.

No burgers as well, no scrap that one because they are not hot enough when the poor unsuspecting souls buy them so there is no chance of a fire starting in the refreshment bars.
