A Chelsea supporting friend of mine went last week to Stamford Bridge to buy tickets for the first six games of the season. He arrived at 08.30am and was finally served at 10.00pm.
He not only had to wait 14 hours to get his prescious tickets, it cost him over 200 pounds as well as the 35 pounds membership fee.
At Palace it is nice to feel that you are still a part of a club and not at the mercy of a PLC.

I think this is misleading. What you fail to say is that your "friend", being a Chelsea supporter, is not too bright and therefore although he got to the ground at 8.30am the box office wasn't actually due to open for anothe twelve hours anyway.

Good call MDt. Football PLC is all about maximising revenue for the shareholders. The sooner the gloryhunters that plough their hardearned into buying manure, Chelsea, Newcastle shirts realise that the cost of "world domination" is not going to be met by their clubs shareholders the better. Shareholders couldn't give a flying about the clubs, only about how many kits are bought and how often they're on telly. Perhaps in 10 years time we will be viewing the aborted Lim bid as a "near miss".
