Worlds worst ref

Did anyone see the game last night between Villa and Celta Vigo in the inter toto cup. The ref had an absolute nightmare he showed the yellow card 13 times and the red 3 (9 yellows and 1 red in the first 25 mins), gave 2 penalties and it wasn't a dirty game.He sent off a Vigo player for time wasting( he was waiting to take a throw in and didn't even have the ball!),he sent Talor off for diving when he was fouled!he then showed a yellow card to a vigo player who had allready been booked and didn't show him a red. To cap it all he blew for full time early only to be told by the fourth official that there was 3 mins of normal time left! It was comical to say the least.

I agree with you that he was the poorest ref I have ever seen (although Wendy Toms remainds the poorest official of all time - at least the guy last night knew the rukes (a bit)), but some of the referee decisions we have had, particularly in our last sojurn in the top flight left me questionning the honesty of the officials. To say they had been nobbled is incorrect, but certainly we were never favoured in any game that season. The one that springs to mind was Pistone's horrific 2 footed lung on Dyer in the corner by the players tunnel. You don't get many more blatent sendings off than that - but no, it wasn't given. Conspiricy?
