The nightclub where the incident allegedly took place
Three Leeds United footballers have been committed for trial on charges of assaulting an Asian student.
Midfielder Lee Bowyer, 23, defender Jonathan Woodgate, 20, and reserve team striker Tony Hackworth, 20, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to 19-year-old Sarfraz Najeib.
The incident allegedly took place outside a nightclub in Leeds city centre in January.
The three are also charged with affray.
Jonathan Woodgate is also charged with fellow team member Michael Duberry, 24, with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
Neal Caveney, 21, and Paul Clifford, 21, are charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, affray and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.
The cases were committed to Leeds Crown Court for a plea and directions hearing to be held on 25 September. All those charged were released on bail.

I'd feel a bit sorry for Leeds if they all were to get sent down, but this was a nasty attack, allegedly with a racial motive and therefore if they were found guilty I would not feel sorry at all for any of the perpetrators who will be out for the rest of the season and the one after that too and the one after that too etc etc..., I would certainly be glad if Lee Bowyer got sent to jail! especially as he has "previous" ha! ha! ha! ha! ha!
