View Full Version : Geelong to prove too strong for Hawks

Hawthorn's brave effort in making the AFL finals unfortunately appears set for a quick conclusion this weekend when they come up against a strong Geelong side. The Hawks will be happy to have made the finals ahead of more worthy contenders such as the Adelaide Crows and will remain content with their final season placing.

I'll be in the crowd tonight with my Palace hat on - bet you wont be able to spot me.

Given the Kangaroos' abysmal performance against Essendon, I think that the Hawks' bid for the flag will go on for at least a week longer...
Guess it's Carlton next up for the Hawks? I don't want to get into trouble by posting any of the allegations about Elliott - suffice it to say I don't like the man. Looks like I'm 'armchair barracking' for the Hawks from now on, Skid...

I was just winding you up, Skid. Excellent result for the Hawks, who must hold up some hope against the hapless Roos. Might be a tad more difficult after that. Vic, agree with your comments about Elliot - makes Ron Noades look like sweetness and light.
Skid, I saw the article on Winmar in The Age today - Seville still holding up?

That's good to hear Vic but I'm not as confident as I've been the last couple of weeks. If Carey turns it on then we'll be in trouble. BUT, if we do win then we play Melbourne in the prelim. I really dont want to play Essendon in the granny. They'll break our record winning margin.

Just. We lost to Woori Yallock on the weekend. They hadnt won a game all year. We play Monbulk this week in an elimination final up at Healesville.

With Carey not looking too fit he may be manageable...and poor old Corey McKernan, bless him, can't muster enough genuine aggression to pull the skin off a jug of custard. I've got to think that the Hawks are in with a good shout.
Bloody Demons pulled a fast one on me...the tube on my TV died during the third quarter, so I assumed Carlton had won at the time of my last post...shouldn't assume anything in this game...
Good luck v. Monbulk Skid...

Thanks for your kind words Vic. http://cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif
We will need plenty of luck considering we have an umpire that is the biggest cheat against us it isnt funny. It's a few of our players last games of footy so if we're losing and he's umpired his usual way, I wouldnt be suprised if he cops it. Here's hoping anyway.
Well done the Hawks, but lets face it the Bombers are just too good, this is my first year in Oz and that team are by far the best in this game they are probably worthy of team of the year in any code for their performances this year
