Ok you Aussies and anyone else interested - what's your forecast? I say Essendon 57 points.

Glad to see you Australians can still **** up ticket allocations for the sports biggest event like they do for the FA Cup final in England, and I would have to back Essendon as well.

Melbourne will be psyched for this one....
So Essendon will only win by 25 points...

Having lived anad worked in Melbourne during 1988 (I was introduced to the game by a Hawks fan and have followed them since - a real Team of the Eighties! - from the highs of the 96 point grand final win over the Demons, beating the Cats the next year despite having Platten and Brereton crocked early on, to the more recent lows) I have been an AFL (VFL) fan ever since.
Can't see anything but a Bombers victory - they've dominated the season and won through in the finals by some big margins. I guess a 50+margin in the grand final.
Is Darren Bewick really likely to play? He must be as old as me!

There had been suggestions during the week that 33-year old Bewick was struggling with his fitness but selectors are convinced he is 100% going into the big game.

Matty, I think I love you. http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/wink.gif
I too am a Hawthorn fan and our turn again is just around the corner. It will be the 80's revisited with all the young guns we've got. All we have to do is hold onto our WA stars.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, I dont understand why everyone thinks that this is a certainty for Essendon. They only beat Melbourne by 13 points in their only clash this year and Melbourne was without the Wiz, and we all know what he's capable of.
Melbourne by 17 points.
Essendon by 6 goals they are unstoppable.

Of two mates I play cricket with one supports Melbourne the other Essendon. The Demons guy is actually going down and the Bomber will have his phone off the hook.We have even had to organise net practice for 10.00am.Any way I think it will be close Essendon by 60.

How about next season? Unfortunately, I wouldn't tip against the Bombers again.
They're only losing Bewick (probably) and Dean Wallis...and worryingly Long and many of their other players are at an age where they can only get better.
We can only hope that some of the other teams will give them a run for their money.

I think I agree with you Vic, reluctantly. Bombers several steps ahead of any others, and will fill the gaps left by Bewick and Wallis.
Melbourne - find it hard to put 2 years in a row. Carlton - probably will do quite well under Brittain. North - hard to see them bouncing back (but they generally do). Hawks - won't dare comment in case Skid Row reads it. Crows (my team) - can only get better, I hope!
