I've just watched the final of the US Open. This Russian kid, who I'd never even heard of completely destroyed Pete Sampras, taking him apart and beating him in straight sets. Sampras didn't have an answer to this kid Safin's game.

Incredible.

Blimey, I thought Sampras was virtually unbeatable these days.

It'll do tennis the power of good for him not to dominate the game the way he has been.

Mind you, it's still not much of a spectator sport these days is it. Serve, point. Serve, point. Serve, point. Where's the fun in that?

I watched the final this evening too. Sad to see so any of those pathetic Yanks go home before he even got given his trophy, just because the American didn't win for once.
