CURCIC MAKES COMEBACK WITH ROBINS
by Peter O`Rourke
YUGOSLAV midfielder Sasa Curcic is trying to resurrect his career in England with lowly Cheltenham Town reserves.
The 28-year-old former Aston Villa and Bolton Wanderers star is hoping to impress Robins boss Steve Cotterill and win a contract at Whaddon Road.
Curcic was a £4 million player when he moved from Bolton Wanderers to Aston Villa in 1996.
He later joined Crystal Palace after failing to shine at Villa Park in the way that he had at Burnden Park.
He quit Selhurst Park and, it seemed, English football last year when he moved to play in America with New York/New Jersey MetroStars.
However, he made a surprise return to Britain at the end of the last season moving to Motherwell on a free transfer, but Well boss Billy Davies didn't offer him a contract at Fir Park and he found himself looking for a new club, going on trial at Tranmere Rovers during the close season, where he again failed to win a deal

Cotterill is known as a right tartar, he won't stand for any of Sasa's crap. Expect a "no longer with" statement soon.
What a shame we've played their reserves already this season!
Wages with Cheltenham reserves are never gonna cover 60 quid a gramme.
Still, a shame as he's only 28 and could've gone on for a few more years yet.

I hope the women of Cheltenham have been warned about strange men with bleached goatees.

I think you will find this will be VERY temporary.
Cheltenham have a ridiculously long injury list and I think Cotteril will be using him purely as a stop gap tactic.

How can a man that was steeped with so much talent , at his age which should be his peak
fall into such depths of obscurity. I am sure I will get ridiculed for what I say now but surely on a week to week contract this man could be given another chance at Palace . After all he seemed genuinely happy here during his time , and this would be the one club that he would probably want to prove himself and sort himself out . Maybe I am just a romantic but at his best Palace have had few talents to match him
And besides I like singing his name
SASA SASA SASA.. Dont worry i'll wake up in a minute back to the land of Harrison , Harris and MCkenzie (bless him he tries so hard)

I think it was something to do with him being a work shy scrote.

My sister lives in Cheltenham and so close to Cheltenhams ground she can hear the chanting on matchdays. I'll be warning her immediately to look out for arrogant yugoslavs who think they're God's gift to women but with her track record she's likely to marry the tw@t.

Plus, he allegedly admitted to have been doing drugs for years and years.
I'm surprised he hasn't ended up at Charlton.

If he has anything like the skill he used to it would be nice to have him back, on a week to week basis.
I still have the image of him running over to the holmesdale, pulling of his shirt, putting it on the ground and then worshipping it on his knees along with a few other players.

I do not understand how a work shy, foreign, arrogant, cheating, drug taking player who looks 15 years older than he actually is can be hero worshipped in this way by the Palace faithful.
However, give me a sniff (or should I say snort?) of a chance, and I would happily leap out of my seat chanting Sasa! Sasa! Sasa
next or any Saturday.
The man is just brilliant

Sasa Curcic has got to be the biggest waste of talent ever to put on a Palace shirt. When he could be bothered, the man was a genius. Problem is, he could rarely be bothered. At 28 though, he's still young enough to make something of himself all over again, so yeah, a last chance on week to week terms sounds good. First sign opf trouble though, and he'd have to be out !

Nope, I don't get it either, but the man had a bit of genius in him and was capable of turning our games in the one minute he decided to play. Unfortunately every time he seems to get 'in' with a club and its fans he gets arrogant and then just buggers around until he's told to sling his hook.
