New posts not appearing

I don't know if it's my computer playing up but when (according to the thread lists and the forum page)a new post has been added to the thread it takes several goes at accessing the page before the new post appears on the screen. I've often had to go off onto other forums and come back a few minutes later. Any idea why? Most recent example is James posting on the get well thread not appearing.

the badnews is that you are using NTL as your ISP. What that means is that the NTL servers cache the BBS pages in order to display them faster.

IE its their problem

You might want to send an email to their support asking them not to proxy cache pages from the domain http://www.cpfc.org and http://cpfc.org IP address 209.15.72.34

Er Dave, NTL are our phone company but the ISP I'm using at the moment is VirginNet. Does this make any difference

Unsure AS- thats kindof of wierd though- why is your phone company caching the pages? Very strange.

I am unsure if Virgin use server side proxy caching but they may well do.

OK heres what we will do

If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer

On your toolbar goto

Tools---->Internet Options

On the temporary Internet files section click settings
Then check the box saying 'check for newer pages' every time you visit the page- or whatever it says

I've given it a go and will see what happens. This has only occurred tonight though and I've been using this computer for the last three days. Anyway...
