It's probably been done before but I can't find a thread so what is your favourite album of all time?
Mine is Jeff Buckleys Grace...only released in the 90's but it changed my life...absolutely brilliant album especially Last goodbye and Lover, you should of come over
JB was such a talent with his life cut short but an album that will be a classic(if not already)

Yes, the Stone Roses was one of the best debut albums I ever heard. I was listening the 'Best of' the other day and it brought back so many memories. Sally Cinnamon, Resurrection......

I agree with you as far as "Definitely". After that, no!
Good albums, though......

Tough one.But for overall music perfection it would have to be Revolver by the Beatles, closely followed by the Stone Roses debut.

This is probably gonna sound really predictable coming from me but it has to be Earth Vs. The Wildhearts - first heard it about a year after it came out ('94) and didn't stop listening to it for months afterwards - it's an album that (to me) pretty much sums up everything that is great about rock music - although at the time they were seen as a metal band, the album proved they were so much more than that with a true rock and roll background. With songs ranging from the fast and heavy (Caffeine Bomb, Suckerpunch) to classic rock n' roll (My Baby Is A Headf**k, Loves**t) to long extended riff workouts with amazing time changes (Everlone, Love U Til I Don't) via riff heavy pop songs with sugary meoldies (Miles Away Girl) this album has it all.
They should have been huge and probably would have been if it hadn't been for the drugs getting in the way - however they are on the comeback trail - new single Top Of The World is out in a few weeks and could be a double A-side with their cover of the Theme from Cheers which Chris Moyles has been playing quite a lot lately on his show.

Music For The Jilted Generation - The Prodigy as the `changed my life` one.
Groove Armada - Vertigo is the current favourite one.
My favourite Beatles album has to be `The Best of The Beatles`.

How can I possibly pick just one? At this present moment it's probably "Searching for the Young Soul Rebels" by Dexys Midnight Runners, but that could change any minute!

Same here.
The song "Time" was partly what made me decide to quit teaching the fiddle and mainly what made me realise that life has been passing me by, stuck out here in the back end of beyond (rural Kent).
All things being equal, I get the keys to my flat this week. Hooray! Thank you Roger Waters!

Almost impossible to choose one.
Despite my love for music, I don't think I would classify any album as having "changed my life".
Which album do I go back to more than any other?
Dark Side of the Moon

Housewarming party at Andy's place post-game Saturday week :lux:
I wouldn't say any album has changed my life but the recording of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra's version of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony opened my ears to the joys of classical music and made accesable a massive body of work beyond the narrow strictures of rock and pop.

Lost and Found by Jason & the Scorchers from 1985. I'm not sure it's one of my favourite albums any more, but it pointed me in the direction of the music I have most enjoyed listening to since.

If I have to pick one it would be Steely Dan's Pretzel Logic, but other significant influences were Jazz at Music Inn Vol 2 (MJQ) - my first Jazz LP, and Disraeli Gears (Cream)

The album which probably made the big difference to me (in a musical way, ie, I suddenly sat up and said "bloody hell, I LOVE THIS MUSIC and I will forevermore be a music junkie!") was REM's Green. An absolute classic.
Of course, there have been better albums, both before and after, but that just happenned to do the job for me at the time.
