Not new exactly, but Let It Be ...Naked is released next Monday.Basically it's the original album stripped of Phil Spector's orchestration which McCartney was never too happy about. Not my favourite Beatles album but still a top album none the less. Also includes one of my most loved Lennon tunes Across The Universe.

The long and Winding Road is excellent with the orchestral stuff ripped out

I heard a bit of it on the radio this morning. Let it be isn't my favourite Beatles album, but it's still very good. This remix has a kind of "Beatles in your living room" feel to it.

There is a urban myth that Paul McCarthy died and hence on one of the Beatles albums the cover has Paul standing away from the camera.

It's got to be the worst album title ever. Why not go for Get Back, as that was what the project was initially going to called. In fact, why not do a proper Get Back sessions release, turning up more extras than 'Don't Let Me Down' (which, incidently, I have on a bootleg, and is excellent). There must be tons of stuff worth releasing, even if it's fairly raw (which, after all, was the point of the project in the first place).

And while I'm at it, when are they going to release the film on D.V.D.? Or Help!, for that matter?

As i remember the "Paul is dead" myth it was "confirmed" by all the conspiracy theorist on the Abbey Road album cover.

*Paul wearing all black (color of death?)
*Paul holding cig in right hand. He is left handed.
*On the album cover The Beatles are all crossing the road. If you look down the road, in line with Paul, there is a car driving towards Paul on the wrong side of the read.

There may well have been some other "hints" on the album.

*Oh, and on one of the Beatles songs (can't remember which) John apparently mumbles "i buried Paul". Although it could well be numerous other phrases with "i very bored" being one of them.

...and if you look at the number plate of the VW, i think it is 28 IF. Meaning Paul would have been 28 if he was still alive.

I hear they left Dig a Pony and Maggie Mae off the new album, can anyone confirm?

Anyone agreee that Don't Let Me Down is one of the greatest songs ever. :p

It was also to do with him being barefoot on the album cover. Some Hindu thing.

I always liked Dig a Pony, the way it crashes up and down and stuff. On the other hand apparently Lennon regarded it is a bit of a joke, not that artists are always the best judge of their own work.

I think some of the drumming by Ringo on Abbey Road was sensational. I love that MacCartney and Lennon usually wrote a song on each album for Ringo to sing on.

Does anyone know whatever happened to Jimmy Nichols, the bloke that replaced Ringo on part of the 1964 tour when Ringo was in hospital. I've read that he hasn't been heard of since.

The playout of 'Strawberry Fields, Forever'. If you listen to Anthology 2 you'll discover John actually says the rather more prosaic 'cranberry sauce'.Originally posted by Funky TD

I always prefered John.
Love this dig at "Sir Paul"...From Lennon's Imagine album;

How Do You Sleep?

So Sgt. Pepper took you by surprise
You better see right through that mother's eyes
Those freaks was right when they said you was dead
The one mistake you made was in your head
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

You live with straights who tell you you was king
Jump when your momma tell you anything
The only thing you done was yesterday
And since you're gone you're just another day
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

A pretty face may last a year or two
But pretty soon they'll see what you can do
The sound you make is muzak to my ears
You must have learned something in all those years
Ah, how do you sleep?
Ah, how do you sleep at night?

Was originally going to be..

The only thing you done was yesterday
You probably stole that mother anyway

However was strongly advised for legal reasons that he should change that line.

I think this song was in response to paul's song "Too many people".
