Everyone needs to post the total odds for their accas I think.
How about people check one other persons accas, a sort of 'buddy system' to avoid you doing all the work Grim.

liking the look of that...cheers all for not being too harsh on me
with regards to working out the accumulator odds I think if everyone puts down the individual prices and the accumulated odds that should be enough. Most will be losers anyway and I get the feeling that winning bets get examined quite closely anyway ;)

Think vancouver had to score over 2.5 goals as a team. The Chicago game looks like it was over 5.5 as a GAME ie both teams can contribute to the score.
I think bet3656 only offer odds on the match as a whole being over or under as opposed to the individual sides scoring over or under x amount.

I haven't seen what bet365 offer but I remember someone asking my opinion on a bet where neither team was allowed to score 3 goals for the bet to win. May well be that they offer different things to Centrebet. I know with soccer they offer individual team scoring bets.

Sorry mate - nowhere near. However my hunch for lots of goals overall was right and you'll see from the main Betting Thread that I clawed back most of stakes with a 1.8 landing on Total Goals being over 35.5 (it was 37 :p )
Definitely the way to go for future. There's some mileage in doubling up the main total goal bets and then accas.

Boss of Ladbroke sin Cleethorpes was saying that a Grimsby player went in and put £62 on a Lucky31. Four horses and a dog - the manager just laughed as he took the bet.
Wasn't laughing when all five selections won and the player came back to claim over £9,000. Just wish he'd say which player it was - I could do with im giving me some tips.....particularly if he tells me he KNOWS Grimsby are going to lose any particular matches ;) :D ;) :D ;)

Starting to think that they won't be much of a price. If this game were being played during the season proper I'd expect to get $3.50-$4, but being a pre season game their opposition will be resting most of their stars and giving their kids a run.:bash:

Think the format is pretty spot on, people having to be quite selective about their bets and the format I would imagine makes it relatively easy to keep track of

Cheers for the comments guys. Won't say I won't do future ones but I'm stepping down for March. Got quite a lot on my plate in March with business-related things. If anyone else wants to take over then please feel free.
One thing that would save a lot of time is restricting it to singles only. Whether anyone actually wants to do that is another quesion but it's just a thought.

Good point although I suspect the lack of posts is more down to Finbar's super burst rather than the format. I may be wrong but that's what I think.
How about a three weeks of the same format and then the top four have a mini league in the last week to determine the winner. Then it's more in keeping with the Champions League format

Perhaps anyone finishing on zero pts or in last place might be more appropriate, and you can't do it twice before it's gone round all entrants. People who aren't prepared to do that must leave the game

You weren't in the others but this is actually the third tournament. el mico won the firsta nd then there was big catastrophe when the Grand Final produced a three-way 0-0-0 draw so no winner. I'm pretty sure tournaments will carry on in some format.
oz likes head to head but the best player can sometimes end up not winning. This format gives everyone a chance over a period of time to pick and choose the best bets.
It has dragged ona little so what Im thinkig is a ten bet two week format from 1st-14th of the month. Then there's a 2.5 week gap of non-tournament time so that people are up for it the next time on comes around.

I've really enjoyed this and thank Grim for organising. You've done a fine job and I salute you - I hope you will be in a position to pick up the reigns again soon - If people would like to continue, I'd happily take the job on for the month of March as I have access to the net on a daily basis.....Agree that it needs to be tweaked a little (but in general the format is fine) but think singles only would make it all a bit stale - Agree that some of the big accumalators are a bit of a nightmare - Suggest we go with singles, doubles and trebles............Also agree with the suggestion of a 2 week run with the top 4 going into a play off in week 3 to determine the overall month winner................We can then have a 1 week break before we do the following month......
Basically, I would log everyones bets onto a spreadsheet to keep track and try and put up the table every two days.....

That's how I've done it. What's annoying is when someone does head to head golf bets and then it's not too easy to check. Funnily enough things like college basketball aren't too bad as they're on CBS Sportsline which covers a wide range of things and I use that to check NHL/NBA anyway.

Don't know, we made enough of a fuss over it at the time back in November. It was done as a knockout tournament with eight of us the first time. Next one followed the format of the 1992 Cricket World Cup.

Yeh, but what profit they made!
Big thing to consider is that soem people didn't use all their points so someone like oz actually made a profit from the 100 points he used. One or two others in this boat as well I think.
Also, a lot of people went silly after the Finbar run. Reckon someone like samtheeagle could have made a profit if reaching 150 was the name of the game.
