I saw them @ Crystal Palace back in the day

Only seen them once - Glastonbury 1989. They played a glorious set in alphabetical order, from Bone Machine to Where Is My Mind.

I just hope that the reunion lives up to my expectations.

I think I was at that too - who headlined 89?

Elvis Costello. Also appeared: Van Morrison, Hothouse Flowers, Throwing Muses, Wonder Stuff.

I remember this fairly clearly as it is the only time I've ever been to Glastonbury.

I have been three times back then but this lineup rings no bells

Yep, I was at both of those too. Still got the bootleg tape from Glastonbury somewhere. Marvellous.

It was a very hot and dry festival. Not a cloud for 3 days. Elvis Costello played solo, just him and a guitar.

Just remembered Donovan played as well. And Martin Stephenson and the Daintees. Not exactly a vintage year, except for the Pixies.

Elvis Costello started playing solo then the curtain behind him went up and The Attractions were there :)

Anyway... I think this Pixies reunion is Gigantic news ;)

Excellent. They're possibly the most underrated band ever.

Fantastic news. I saw them at Brixton acedemy about '92 I think.
Frank Black has really sucked on his own though.

In your opinion, of course.

I think that's the general consensus, do you think his solo stuff has been any good?

The general consensus thinks Will Young is fantastic....

His self titled album is very good and "Teenager of the Year" has some great songs (bit long I suppose)

Frank Black and the Catholics have put out some great albums.

"Dogs in the Sand" is very good.

Some of his other stuff is a bit hit or miss. But to say it all "sucks" isn't right.

All in my opinion, of course.

I agree with oz-da-II's opinion. He's made some really good music without the Pixies, as has Kim.

They're playing Dublin with the Chillie Peppers, but at £48 a ticket it's fairly steep.

Unfortunate pairing for The Pixies.....

Suppose it could be quite easy for The Pixies to steal the show though.

will be tempted to go but having college and a palace season ticket seriously hampers your chances of getting a job as i discoverd today (twice) which means i cant afford to many gigs.

Any one got any jobs goin on saturdays i can work around a palace season ticket...

Just to reiterate what I said on the gig news thread: two extra Brixton shows have been announced and tickets are on sale now. Still some left at www.ticketweb.co.uk.

Anyone who paid £200 per ticket for one of the original shows on eBay must be feeling a bit stupid at the moment.

Warm-up show for V announced, at London Forum on 20th August. Tickets on sale today (Friday) at 9am from gigsandtours.com.

I'm going to see Athlete that day otherwise I'd be tempted, not that I'm a huge fan.
