So, I could turn up at the box office, give any random seat block, row and number, and be entitled to purchase three tix (the season ticket seat and two guest seats), and they DON'T check?

Yes, if you can guess their name and address as well.

So I get their name, location and seat details from their user profiles on this website, and then have the following conversation with the Box Office:

"Hello, I'd like to buy some tickets on behalf of my friend who's at work and couldn't queue. This is his seat no. ..."
"No problem, can you confirm his address?"
"Oh, er, actually I can't. I know the house and how to get there, but, come to think of it, I've never known the street address. Isn't that silly? Is it a problem, I'd phone but he's in meetings all day which is why he hasn't been able to come along. I know its in Norwood."
"That'll be fine, how many tickets are you looking to buy?"

etc, etc.

BTW I'm not planning to do this, just making a point. By way of furthering my point, I'm not a member, but have bought tickets before they've been on general sale this season because I have held a season ticket in the past and my details show up on the Box Office computer.

10-05-2004, 02:43 PM
It don't work like that... there are other questions they use if you can't answer correctly on your friend's behalf.

The problem comes when the info the club hold is actually incorrectly keyed, as happened with one of our lot last night.

It's quite possible, but you'd have to be a prize c u next Tuesday to do such a thing to a fellow fan.

And while I'm certain you wouldn't, it does worry me that there are some out there who would (and, judging by a couple of people on here saying their seats had been sold, have...)

Big queue today, lucky that Danni was 'saving my place' so I only queued for three hours instead of five.

When they went to do the address lookup on my friend's season ticket it took minutes for the database lookup to come back, I think they must be running on an old Amstrad 286.

Still, I had some nice jerk chicken from the place by the garage while I was waiting.
