Ove the years we've seen billions of the bloody things, and I for one have spent stacks of cash on loads of console footie games. CM p*sses all over the other PC ones, but which is your fave ever console footie game?
I have to say I used to be a FIFA fan both on the MegaDrive and the Playstation, but as soon as I discovered ISS Pro 98 I knew I'd found the series to rule. I also have a rather old but ace game for the Playstation called Soccer '97, with commentary by Alan Green, made by Eidos. But my favourite is probably tied between Sensible Soccer for the MegaDrive and ISS Pro Evolution 2 for the Playstation.
On the worst side, there are Onside and Viva Football, both of which I was foolish enough to buy.
Any thought people?

I'm still trying to find a decent football game for the dreamcast.

Well, Ive always been a fifa fan (for simulation, but for management, its CM always)
Having bought every fifa game in the series, first for megadriv now pc.
But i played ISS at RDSdaEAGLE's house and i relly want that now. The only problem is they dont do it for pc and id have to fork out for a playstaion to get it.

FIFA 2001 is the best I've played, but then again i aint played the latest offering from ISS, I have to say that Kick Off 2 for the Amiga will always hold a special place in my heart. Even the worst person could pick it up with its simple controls (I.E. kick http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/biggrin.gif)
Kick Off 2 on the Atari St without a shadow of a doubt. All the others are sh!te.

ISS Pro 2 is wicked but also quite hard, Fifa 2001 isnot real enough. I have also got grand liberio 2 which is pants. However This is football 2 is good also, and you can be Palace and take them to glory.
Just as a note if you have LMA and are thinking of getting LMA 2001 dont bother it is terrible.

Out of interest, has anyone played either the full game (not sure if it is out yet) or the demo of ISS on the PS2 yet? I played the demo and it's amazing. The background and everything is just SO detailed. I played ISS for the PS1 on RDS_da_Eagle's PS for the first time to! Great game, love it.

From what I've played: ISS Pro Evolution 1.
I haven't played Pro Evolution 2 or even ISS on PS2 though. Having said that, I was never a fan of the PSX. I have an N64 and a Dreamcast, and while the other game genres can be quite entertaining, I only buy consoles for footie games (which is why I seriously regret getting a Dreamcast). I defy anyone to get close to beating me on ISS 64 on the N64. When it comes to FIFA games, they can be compared to Newcastle under Kevin Keegan: always there, decent games with some major flaws, never the best. Fifa 2001 (PC) is disappointing, though it can be improved by tweaking some aspects of it (www.fifa2001.com and Fed2001). When it comes to management games, well why bother discussing it.. there is no, and there will never be any competition. CM (ANY version) pisses over anything.
My Console Footie games Hall Of Fame:
ISS pro evolution 1
ISS 64
Fever Pitch Soccer (for sheer comedy value)
Fifa International soccer (back in those days.. many a great night..)
Sensible Soccer
ISS (the original SNES one)

Without doubt, (forget yer flashy 3-D graphics) the best game was and still is the original Sensible Soccer for the PC

Yep, Sensible World Of Soccer is THE best footy game available, even now... a little dated, but you can still pick it up and have a seriously good time without any practice.
ISS Pro is superb also, for gameplay and general entertainment it totally kicks FIFA2001.
On the PS2, I'd rather play ISS Pro 1 than FIFA2001, as it's a much better game to play.

Sensi is forever a classic.
FIFA 2001 on the PSX is only best for your pick up and play for 10 mins at a time type person.
ISS Pro Evolution 2 was the best football game around if you put some time in....until I played Winning Eleven 5 on a Jap PS2. It's essentially ISS Pro Evo 3, and just ever so slightly tweaked, plus if you care about it, the Euro version will once again have all the proper names and kits, FIFA style.
The current ISS on the PS2 is playable in brief spurts - much more arcadey, but has more depth than FIFA.

Kick off has to win if only for the fact it was invented by a Palace fan, does it need anything else.
Shame CM was invented by a sea-weed but it is still undoubtadly the best!

CM was actually invented by the Collyer brothers - they both support Everton. The lead developer for CM now is Marc Vaughan and he supports Brighton.
*Sorry for being Mr know it all!* http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/wink.gif
CM has to be the best game ever.
ISS is the best footy 'playable' game ever.

Kick Off 2 was good in it's day, as was Sensi.
ISS Pro evo is quality, the second one is better and despite looking almost the same requires completely different tactics and gameplay - no more hoofing through the middle for shefshenko (??!!) to run onto.
My mate has a jap PS2 and has already played ISS 2 on it the *******
