And he just made a superb injury-time save. Alan Smith shouldn't have bothered going out to Latvia if it's being shown on TV though!!
He sent a scout out instead.
He did well I thought, anyone agree?

When I read our 'new keeper' was on Channel 5, I assumed he was playing a randy window cleaner just about to get his end away with a blonde with big jugs. The reality is a bit of an anticlimax, literally.

He did ok although Pompey are a more potent attacking force than Scotland

Sounds more like our ex-Swedish international striker to me! http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Agree with Dave.
Scotland were lucky to win - Channel 5's commentary was very biased too, not giving
credit to Latvia where they should have.
IF he's to be our new 'keeper then it suits me though - he looked very competant on the ball and made two very good saves (the only ones he had to).
Give him a couple of reserve matches now Palace and take it from there.
Oh - and unlucky to the Irish - you should have held out boys !!

I didn't seen the game - but a couple of comments I heard suggested he was flapping at crosses a bit??
I understnad that the scout that Palace sent is someone some of us have met previously - I think he used to be more attached to the youth academy - but runs a goalkeeping school or something - so should be a good judge hopefully!!! http://www.cpfc.org/ubb/smile.gif

Don't recall that - I thought his handling looked quite sound. I know that Newcastle were also looking at two of their defenders as well though.

He did look a bit shaky on crosses - but when did Palace ever have a keeper who didn't?
We could do worse than look at a couple of their outfield players - they pissed all over the Jocks.

Bill Glazier? John Jackson? Actually the three or four crosses I saw the Latvian keeper take, he dealt with very effifiently, which is more than can be said for my spelling.

Sorry Tony - you've got me there, even I'm not old enough to remember Bill Glazier.
Jacko was a bloody marvel - but I seem to recall that he had his moments dealing with crosses too!
