A Portugal vs. Greece final.

Who'd have thought, when those two teams kicked off the tournament, that it would be the exact same final?

Question is...who's going to win?

I'd like to say that Greece will. They built they're team on their defence, and have been a superbly resilient team. However, I feel that Portugal may want to get revenge for their performance in the first game.

Also, as it's the second time they'll play each other, I think Portugal may have some idea about how to approach the game better.

Greece have also done it the hard way. Beating Portugal, France and the Czech Republic on their way, it wasn't an easy task.

In conclusion...COME ON GREECE!!! :lux:

Greece's defence is great, i just wonder if the final is a step too far. The Portugese surely will be up on them after losing to the greeks in the first game?

Greece are organised, stubborn and dangerous on the counter attack. THey have a fantastic player in Zagorakis [who would have thought he was once a Leicester player]. Supremely likeable team with a good coach, even if he is German but I'm backing the Greeks to complete a fantastic fairytale.

Portugal will be a tough team to beat, BUT - I think Greece will turn them over again. I bet Neil Warnock's doing his nut for releasing Dellas:D

C'mon Greece:lux:

It's going to be a super final. No namby-pamby French or Italians, no diving Spaniards, no lucky Germans, no ice hockey-loving Czechs. Shame England couldn't do it, but there will be a new name on the European Championship, and I'm loving that. Rehhagel must be the hotest property in global football management, this is a bit like Palace being in the race for the Premiership title on the last day of the season!

Depends whether Greece "do a Millwall" and decide that getting there is the important thing, or whether they maintain the commitment, organisation and skill level seen thus far - in which case they start as my favourites.

Greece. At least then we'll get a nice photo of Ronaldo crying his eyes out.

Greece's luck will finally run out, especially if the ref is stronger with them than Collina was last night.

I don't think they've been at all lucky, save for the last five minutes against Russia when Kirichencko was within three inches of putting them out.

Must admit I really couldn't care less who wins it and in all honestly I will most probably not even bother watching it, which is quite something for me!

I just think it has all the hallmarks of a 0-0 boredraw going all the way to penalties. You watch, it will now be a 4-3 cracker!

Don't care, but get your money on Germany for the 2006 world cup, with the refs on their side they will have no problem

I'm going for Portgual, primarily because of the wonderful Lisboa deli in Ladbroke Grove which I frequent regularly.

The owner was going mental on Thursday!

Portugal at it again, they had a go at England and then Holland; now they have reached even lower, claiming that the Referee is in favour of Greece. Tell me of any Referee in the FL that is not known to all managers and in some cases lives close to some of them. What utter b0llocks

I want greece to win,I think their defence is fantastic and they are capable of scoring goals

I just know though that Ronaldo will be diving like there is no tomorrow in this game so I really hope one of the greeks gives him a nice swift kick early in the game.

Another point is over the entire competition how many saves has the greek keeper been called on to make?..not very many, the Greek defence is very good,it'll take something speacial to break it.

Haha! Full makrs to the TV director for going straight to him after the game ended. That'll teach you to run up for a penalty without stopping!
