Oh God, I do hope not.
I hope we did. Just what we need at the moment.

Can't Smithers look to other areas of the field i.e. attacking, we need a traditional CENTRE FORWARD AND ANOTHER CREATIVE Midfielder?
Darren peacocks okay, so we now have, Austin, Woozley, Smith, Frampton, Linigod, Fanny, Ruddock and many more in attack we have
MorrisisQo, McKensie, Evans (umm), Martin (umm) WHY DOESNT HE EVER PLAT DSANE?

Isn't just this a piece of poor journalism by the Express? There hasn't been any sign that we have signed Peacock yet has there? certainly not in time to play on Sunday anyway. I think they are either jumping the gun or they are simply inept. Whatever the Peacock situation I would put money on the latter!
If he did come - guess we would have to pay too much but he could come off as a master stroke alongside Ruddock and Mullins sweeping behind or in front depending on the situation/match. I'm not his greatest fan though.

I thought that someone had spotted Peacock at East Croydon station.

I have been spotted outside Stafford railway station within the last week, but there is no truth in the salacious tabloid rumour that I am at the centre of the Ranger's biggest transfer coup since Collymore left to play league football http://cpfc.org/ubb/rolleyes.gif
Seriously, there could have been any number of reason's why Darren Peacock was seen at East Croydon, and as he is ****, I hope its not the obvious one.

we do need a big striker but I do like Peacock, only thing is we are going for quick fixes at the moment which I think will be a mistake.

BIG LETTER!

Firstly I don't rate Peacock. Secondly if he was to sign he would expect to play, and after the weekend I think I am quite happy with Fan, Mullins and Razor, with players like Linighan, Austin and Woozley in reserve. That is about as strong as the majority of sides in this division, and I can't see us conceding many goals this season. Thirdly, to say we seem to be going for quick fixes is not quite correct, Geoff. With the exception of Ruddock, the oldest of the summer signings is Pollock, who is only 26.

It's a little-known fact that Peacock has one leg considerably longer than the other and has to play with specially-made boots. One of them is built-up like a platform shoe.
Do we really need another knackered old centre-half like that? Linighan and Ruddock are sufficient I think. We have adequate cover in that area now - a big centre-forward is a more pressing requirement.

But we have made an enquiry for Steve Staunton and if the rumors were try Brian Dean as well. They are both over 30, they may still be able to mix it in this division but I would rathor sign someone with potential.
