Football365.com is running a rumour that Benitez will clear out half the Liverpool squad. Could Babbel, Cheyrou, Biscan or Smicer do a job this season? Smicer could certainly supply AJ with some quality. What about Tudor from Juve if (as stated) he is available? He cold do a decent job.

Don't exactly rate Smicer either...known for doing pretty much f*ck all during the duration of his whole Liverpool career.

I've spent years taking the piss out of Liverpool fans because of these sort of players...
So, no thanks

It will definetly not happen, but if Bruno Cheyrou joined Palace I would commit suicide. He is one of the most over rated players of all time. Gerard Houllier described him as the next Zinedine Zidane, & he wonders why he got the sack!!!

Cheyrou has already gone to Marseille on a year long loan.

I have said before on other threads we should steer well clear of these overrated hasbeens, Where is the motivation for them to join a smaller club & at the same time take a major paycut.
We should be looking to the lower leagues for players like John Stead like wot Copple used to do!

Me too. If Palace bought Smicer, I would fear for my sanity.

Didn't everyone slate Paul Stewart before he even arrived at Palace from Liverpool ?
I think it's fair to say that some of them aren't quality, but you don't know what a Dowie/Harbin training structure might do for them....
The majority of us would have taken out and shot Danny Granville pre-Dowie and probably Julian Gray as well....so let's see.

Smicer did alright for the Czechs when he came on. I suspect he has suffered at Liverpool because he is used as a bench player and doeesn't get a regular run.

Smicer's never been a bad player. He was in and out of the team at Liverpool, in a variety of positions. He's consistently been a Czech international for the past 8 or 9 years and is capable of scoring plenty of goals. If Dowie/Harbin got to work with him I'd love it!

The problem at Liverpool was that Hoooooollier paid so much money for Joof, Cheyroooo, Jow, and others that he had to play them. Smicer didn't really get a look in.
Still don't want him though or any of the others. Maybe Baros, but I expect someone will reply saying wages would be a problem

The other problem would be that if these players have been living in Liverpool we will not be able to park our cars near the ground anymore. :D
