Now that Real have got an English backbone, with Woodgate, Beckham and Owen, I think that all they're missing is a defensive midfielder.

Wouldn't it be great if they now signed another Englishman for that position, someone with potential. Someone along the lines of Joey Barton, Shaun Davis, Jermaine Jenas. Or even, Shaun Derry? He may be older than the rest of them, but let's face it, he still has a lot of potential. He can tackle, hit a long pass and his marketing value must be considerable.

How much do you think it would take for Real to prize him away from Palace, and can anyone run up a photoshop mock-up of 'El Derry'?

Gotta be worth at least £20M bearing in mind he doesn't have a dodgy hamstring like Owen, or get anywhere near the amount of injuries like Woodgate. Then there's image rights - mullet wigs alone wood rake in serious money.
