Number of bets; 20 in the first round and 15 in the second round.
This thread is only to be used for competition comments. Any other bets that are not part of the Masters should be put on the normal Betting Thread.

Anyone who wishes to take part in the betting masters '10 must “register” (post on this thread) before the end of 15 of September. It's free to join and the only rule upon joining is that you start your first tip with I'M IN in capitals at the start of it so that I can keep an easy trace of when people started their campaigns.

Rules are as follows

1 Every player has 200 points to bet with in the first round.

2 Each separate bet made is 10 points meaning players have 20 bets during the first 20 days.

3 In the second round the 4 finalists all start on 0 points, but the winner from the first round will get an additional 10 points (1 bet) to the 150 points that can bet used in the second round.

4 Betting Masters, first group stages runs from 0000 on the 01 of September (standard UK time) to 2359hrs on Monday 20/09/04. Then the top four posters come together in a mini league from there on and out September month.
Final bet settlement must occur before 2359 on the 30, September.

5 Naturally the winner is the person with the highest score on October 1st

6 Scoring consists of total winnings and is inclusive of 10 point stake i.e. someone bets on a 6/4 horse and it wins their score becomes 25 (15 points profits plus the 10 pt stake) There is no score for any bets not used. Losing bets are scored as zero, not -10.

7 Players must quote where they're getting their prices.

8 Singles and upwards accepted.

9 For boxed multis and bets such as yankees, each separate bet within the bet counts as separate and will cost 10pts per bet. e.g. ten trebles from five selections will use up 100 points.

10. E/W bets are counted as a single bet in the masters, which means 10 points / 2

11. For tracking purposes, players are requested to put the outcome of their bets on the post for all events other than international cricket/European soccer/tennis.

12. Where possible players are requested to put down a running total of their bets in their posts, although I'll also try and produce rolling league tables where possible.

13. The bets must be possible to do in real life, meaning for example that If you got a multi, all the odds have to come from 1 bookmaker. You can’t shop around for the highest odds and put them together.

Norwegian "newspaper" Tips have Albania as this weeks big outsider. Playing at home to Greece. Odds as high as 5.5 on a home win.
The reason for this bet:
Albania undefeated at home in the Euro qualifiers, beat for example Sweden here 2-1 in February. Greece will probably have problems with being such big favourites too..

Very lucky as Newcastle scored right at the end of the 1st half!!

Bet on Garcia being top pts scorer also won but he tied with Westwood. Had £20 at 4.1 on Betfair which returned £21 profit. Bit drunk to work out the profit 10pts at 3.8 would return, good at maths but can't be working it out at this hour, think I have qualified for the last 4 though! Shall try to make the effort at work tomorrow

Bet 2 does hurt a bit, at least the 6th goal was right at the end so I wasn't screaming at the tv.

The reason for me coping bets are not because I don't trust you. I copy them into an excel spreadsheet because it is much easier to check the scores that way. And something just didn’t add up last night.
I wasn't aware of the Monaco situation. That certainly puts the situation in a different perspective.
This isn't the first time Paul has edited his bets after an event has started...it makes one wonder..

But let's wait for Paul's explanation.

(I think we need a new rule that says that: when an event has started it is not allowed to edit one's own bets. If there's odds changes or something, you'll have to post it in a new post..)

After some careful deliberations, I’ve come to the conclusion that Paul gets a yellow card for editing his bets. I’ve been lead to believe that this was just an honest mistake.
It caused confusion and from now on in, nobody should edit there bets. If there’s a change to be made, do it in a new post..
