View Full Version : Using different PC's on the bbs
Mr Palace Porky

I joined this site from my work pc (as palaceporky) but have only ever posted from my home pc, which automatically logged me in every time I visited the bbs (which my work pc has never done).
Our IT guy at work told me that when I was posting (from home) an email was sent to my company, as this is what I used as my email addresson registration.
He done something to my pc at work and told me to click on a couple of icons in the security section in 'properties' on internet explorer to stop this happening.
I've since not been able to log in from my home pc, even though I reversed these settings on my pc.
My only alternative has been to register again as Mr Palace Porky.
Any help or advice please.

It's down to cookies. Which is kept in the internet temp area. If this is emptied everytime you close IE at work then you WILL need to log in each time. Your ID Bod should know this. There is a setting in IE for this.

Please help me out here someone as this is really stumping me.
Yet again, I have had to register a new name (the 3rd palace porky)
And now, as of 9.15 tonight I'm logged in and showing as all 3 users.

What does it say when you try and login as an old 'porky' from home?

It says 'thanks for logging in, blah, blah you will now be taken to blah, blah, but then I'm unable to reply or start a thread etc even though my name is showing as being logged in with the other members.

Maybe the 'gestapo' aka mods are banning me, for multiple id's.

Have you tried logging out of each and then logging in as your original username? You may be logged in somewhere else ie. At work and at home. If you use multi PC login you need to log out of the other one. The BBS allows you access without logging in once it's set up. But that means if you don't log out you can get a conflict.
This may be Bollock$ but it sounds good!:D
