The transfer market is really fun! So whats your BEST EVER BUY -not including free transfers?

Mine is probably..... Marcelo Salas For £1.2m He was worth £6.5 after a week!

I bought Steven Gerrard for 2.1 million when he was out of favour at Liverpool. He went on to get 7.50+ for the next 4 seasons and became a regular England international. Now worth 8mill.

Leon Knight i bout for about 13 million. This may not seem like a good price, but 56 goals in 51 appearences tells its own story. Another England international, has racked up 50 caps at the age of 27! Now worth 19mill.

Steve Daley cost me 95k from leeds when he was 18. He is now England international and noit even my No.1!! Now worth 3mill, will increase surely when he becomes No.1!

Brutil Hose cost me 7mill and took me to Champions league success. Now at Parma, went for free cos he wanted a new challenge!!!

Just some of my best buys. Others include frees such as Barber (full international), McMaster (full international), Kennedy Bakircioglu (full swedish international), Jody joseph (full international), David Beckham (need i say it) even though he is 34!!

Mark Tobin on a free, I nutured him in reserves, then in 2003 I brought him up to first team where for a midfielder got 12 goals in 38 appearances, and is an International.

Illyas Saglamoglu, Swedish Striker

Bought him when I was in the Conference. Has played in every division, while scoring tons of goals and always getting an Av Rating of 7.50ish or above. At the ripe old age of 24 and after two seasons experience in the Premiership, he's now in the Sweden squad.

Price? £40,000

I bought John O'Flynn in season 7 for Spurs, he was 25. Started off at Peterboro aged 17 and for £400k he moved to Blackburn where he was regularly banging in 30/40+ goals... so i thought "uh oh, he could score those against me!!" so i bid and bid and bid.. finally they accepted my offer.. a shameful £28.5m. But was it worth it... oh YES.. his lowest scoring season was 95, and thats because he missed the last 2 months of the season with injury. His highest was 128 goals!!! Hat tricks each game for 2 months.

At the age of 33 i sold him to Bayern Munich for £10m, and he couldn't reproduce his form and retired a season later. Not bad business on my part :p

Mihalis Konstantinou! Best striker on the game ever. You need to be a decent UEFA+ team to get him. He starts off at Iraklis in Greece and you can get him for about £3.5 million if you're playing the original but I recently downloaded the GDI update and now he costs about £5-7 million, but its still well worth it!

I sold Leon McKenzie for 8 million to Leeds - he was top scorer in the Premiership 2 seasons in a row...but then got upset when I free transfered Ruddock, so he left.

Should have been worth shed loads, but he got the hump after seven seasons and wanted a new challenge, and I ended up selling him for only £1.5m :grrr:

But considering he cost £40k and scored 20 goals av a season and had a av ratinf 7.50, I can't really complain.

My best buy has to be Joyce. cost me £7m but has averaged over 8 for me 5 seasons in a row scoring loads as well as assisting over half of the games he plays. Now worth £20.5m. Not even going to mention Boateg cos Daniel Nash will moan. Oops, just did. I suppose Yannick Kamanan wasn't a bad buy at 750k, seeing as I had a bid of £48m for him. Sounds like That Flynn bloke was the best buy though. 128 goals in a season. Pretty impressive.

Fair enough.
Boateg, cost me 13m but was well worth it. over 50 goals a season with an average of about 8.40 in 5 seasons.

I have seen Ishizaki and Källström play live in the Råsunda. 1-1 draw. But i later saw Ishizaki score one and have a hand in 3 vs Helsingborgs when AIK won 4-1! He is impressive in real life as well as CM!!

Markus Ekenberg scored the Helsingborgs goal, check him out too.

My most recent coup was to get Ravenelli on as player coach at Rushden and Diamonds in my first season in the conference.
He takes the p*ss in that league.

However, my most memorable acheivements are nurturing the youth players that come through the system. One, a AML called Wayne Rogers, played over 750 games in one of my previous games averaging 7.30. Although, I can't be given credit for finding him.

I agree. I have never known stats like that in the game. 35 goals for a striker in a season has been my best.

Right, when on the screen you want to take press the Print Screen key (next to F12.) Then enter a program such as paint. Simply paste it in, save it (as JPEG to save space) and there you go.

I deleted the game 3 weeks ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!

it was around 300mb and slowing down the puny 1.6gb hard drive i used for CM!!!!

I realised i had exams coming up and couldn't afford to waste so many hours playing this game so i deleted it :(!!!!

I might have some other screenshots though, i will find out and post them.

How about this then- Ive started again the the third division with Notts County and I've picked up Gary Charles (DR) in a part excange deal for £300,000 with my Tony Battersby they offered to pay £1.3m for!!!

Also, very amusingly, in my middlesborough save I found 44 year old Greek called Mikapolous and the only way i can keep him in the game is by taking over another team in close season and by putting a huge bid in for him so he doesnt retire!

Tonton Zola Mokouko from Derby, an excellent signing and very young aswell!

Alex Notman, can't remember who I bought him from but is a Attacking Midfielder and in my last season scored just over 30 goals!

I once had a player which I bought for about 3m, two weeks later on the game sold him for 35m, I then checked how much he was worth and it had him down as being worth 8m. I kept putting bids in for him and after a couple of months on the game bought him back for 10m!

What a bargain!

I have found that young swedish players on the game tend to turn in to excellent players!

a centre back from Rangers called Scott Wilson. He cost me 60k when i was at Bournemouth and i sold him to Man U for 12m in 2 years. Unfortunately he wanted to move to a bigger club otherwise i would have never sold him.

Neil Mustoe- cost me £65k from Man U last season (wasnt almost out of contract either) and I just got an offer of £4m for him, which I rejected.

Managed it from the Conference to the Premier League with a team i created and added some players (including myself), but by season 5 or 6 seasons in it got boring. I had Van Nistelrooy and Shevchenko as my strikers in the Premier League.

I only asked cos I was THAT close to getting it this weekend with Notts county (CM 97-98). 3rd in Div3, 2nd Div2 and I should have won Div one except I picked up about 6 points in the last 21 and dropped to 3rd.
Of course I got whipped in the playoffs and now am struggling to beat relegation. BAAA!:o

I just bought Trond Fredrik Ludvigsen from Bodo/Glimt, he scored 15 mins into his debut and added another later on. He is 18 and so far has 3 goals in 4 games. Cost me £700k.

Its the 2000-2001 season, don't ask me how but I pick up Batistuta and Davor Suker on frees for my Notts County side(not to mention Asprilla and Lebouf earlier on in the season) and I still lose to Cambridge in the playoffs.
