View Full Version : 3,500 Season tickets
Wimbledon have sold 3,500 season tickets as oppossed to 7,000 last year. Do we think that many of the 3,500 that haven't renewed will be attending Palace this year?

Nope, cos they wont be seeing there favourite teams, like ManUre and Liverpool.

Dave,
On the pre-season performances, erm... maybe not http://64.65.14.178/ubb/wink.gif
But's let's hope so. And how are Wimbledon going to survive on attendances or around 6,000?

Damn it!! I was hoping we would have broken the 10,000 barrier.
I suppose we may have done until the hysteria after the Coppell thing led to people demanding money back...
Busy times for Robbie and co methinks...

I don't know how many we have sold. I understand that the club is having difficulty getting an exact figure due to administrative issues.
The last figure I heard was 8 thousand- however I have no idea how accurate that was.

I phoned the club four weeks ago to finalise some season ticket arrangements for some pals, and I asked how many they'd sold. The lady in the box office said it was over 9,000, but they expected it to break the 10,000 barrier.

Yes, a colleague of mine was gutted that Wimpledon took the drop being as he's a Liverpool fan living just up the road from SP.
Credit to you Dave, he's Oirish, how were you fortunate enough to avoid the glamour of Manure and friends?
Re Wimpledon though, it shows how fickle their lot are, they really aren't good footy fans like us - hopefully they'll slide down to where they belong - Plough Lane and the Conference. Seeing those MotD pics of the young ones crying was funny, I just thought of that Sky advert "Be careful who you CHOOSE son, because they're with you for life" Ha ha ha ha ha!!!!
Well i woudn't wist Wimbledon in the conference- 3 div is fine by me

Shame on me! There I've been thinking us and QPR are about the same sort of size and we're nearly twice as big. I look forward to 3-0 win against them as we always do when playingthem on a Sunday!!!!
As for Fulham that figure tells the whole story.

I think we should be able to break 10,000. Maybe a few signed up today!

I understand that all improvements at Selhurst are initiated/payed by Simon. What do the Wimbledon cuckoos provide? It took me years to understand that Palace got nothing from this deal. I have also heard that groundsharing is prohibited by the FA, and that this arrengement is regarded "provisoric".

Don't forget that all the others have grown their support in the past 2 seasons on the back of football being fashoinable whilst we've stayed stagnant. I think we'll pull up this list over the next few years.
QPR make me laugh, they really do match Fulham well for being a couple of tiny tinpot clubs. Surprised that Wimpledon aren't bottom though.

Perhaps this will go someway to explaining Wimbledon's pathetic crowd sizes. The official squatters website has Selhurst Park in the wrong location. Bit of a bugger if you are a first time visitor....

what is the position regarding the three and five year seasons. apologies for ignorance. have they all come to an end now and if so what is the takeup at the real price? I was in Block L Upper Tier Coppell Stand, and asked to move along just a few seats (mainly to escape the loud and foul mouthed t****r who sits behind and has been sonically removing my ear wax for several seasons), and have ended up in P Block! I do not know whether the view is any better, but I was surprised to find spaces there.

thinking about it the season ticket sales - although around the same number as last year - are in a way higher. Last years figures included the 5 year deals - whereas this year - it is ALL people who have bought a ticket this year - certainly financially better

And not forgetting that last season included the half-year ticket push over Crimbo. These people seem to have mostly renewed.
