According to The Sun today we are after Charlton's U18 player Paul Konchesky who is a full back, Charlton want £750,000 but apparantly we will not pay that much. Anyone know how good he is or is he a left or right back??? After the gypos got Svensson on the cheap its a bit much asking for 3/4 of a million for a youth player.

Paul Konchesky made his Charlton debut at 16, and is a 19 year old left-back.

First team football is what he understandably wants, and he has little chance of playing if Chris Powell,(another loss to this club) is fit.

Curbishley is reluctant to sell him, as I assume he sees Paul as a natural successor to Powell, who is pushing 31. Clearly, Konchesky isn't prepared to wait two or three years longer for a regular spot.

I think if Jordan can get him, it is a fantastic deal, as Konchesky, would solve our own left-back problems, is young and highly regarded, so of course when we have to sell him, he will command a big fee, (that's if transfer fees still exist by then).

Football 365 has also covered the story.

Chris Powell, another player let go by Steve Coppell who went on to do well elsewhere.

Didn't he show any signs of potential when he was with us?

Has Harrison signed yet or is it still just a loan deal.It was meant to be close to being sorted a week ago but i've heard nothing since.
