For Folk's Sake - Folk Music Folks

Listening to Midlake's new compilation album (which is very folky and an obvious nod of the head to their biggest influences) compelled me to share a couple of their picks, and ask others for contributions - rare or possibly unknown folk that should be better known....

First, obscure Dutch folk from Jan Duindam

Espers with Caroline

...and one from the brilliant Sandy Denny

No folking replies? :(

OK i`ll reply - i went to see The Unthanks at the De La Warr Pavilion last Sunday and it was a mesmerising, spellbinding experience.

(Did`nt think much of the Trembling Bells though)

Bless you.

Ahh yeh, I've heard some of The Unthanks (If that's Rachel Unthank & The Winterset?) - liked their cover of Sea Song.
