Pull out of the World cup?

Stumbled across this whilst browsing the BBC this morning, discussing the possibility of players being poisoned...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p060d698

I wouldn't rule anything out with Russia.

Given that you can't guarantee the safety of the fans, the players or that it won't be corrupted in one way or the other, would you support the idea of England pulling out of the World Cup?

Should have been our World Cup, best thing we can do is go there and win it

If we can’t do that we should atleast turn up don’t see why they should ruin our summer of football.

Bipe 11-03-2018 08:41 AM

I think they've already started working on Joe Hart...

Sick Bucket 11-03-2018 08:43 AM

Well I agree it would be sad but I basically don't trust the Russians to run a fair and safe tournament.

Of course Blatter and co are largely to blame, does anyone believe Russia were awarded the WC fairly?

Jim Cannon 11-03-2018 08:44 AM

We won't pull out of it, our fans will still be there and we won't win it either. Nothing to see here

Marksf 11-03-2018 08:45 AM

Not so sure about Russia but we should definitely pull out of Qatar for obvious reasons.

redandblue 11-03-2018 09:04 AM

We should pull out to save heartache and embarrassment

Malarkey 11-03-2018 09:07 AM

No

I agree - might as well pull out

St.Francois 11-03-2018 09:36 AM

Wouldn't really be bothered if we did pull out. They don't deserve the tournament and if we did pull out it might show it up for the farce it is.

The country is a joke with the things they get up to. Invading other countries, bumping off rival politicians.

Not really bothered, but would be quite happy if we pulled out. Regarding failed drugs tests and poisoning though, I doubt it would happen because it would be so obvious and all the world would be watching.

pallet 11-03-2018 09:37 AM

We will be pulling out of the world cup just after the 3rd group game.

in-exile 11-03-2018 09:38 AM

It's just a game.

No but then has it ever been awarded fairly? Weren’t we annoyed that Jack Warner basically ****ed our bribe off for Russia’s?

I wouldn’t be opposed to pulling out. Horrible country, horrible governing body.

It’s the next one we should really pull out of though. Workers dying in 50 degree heat, sent home in body bags to build stadiums in a state with horrific human rights record genrally & conditions as unsuitable as can be for hosting the event in the first place. I won’t watch a second of the 2022 World Cup.

CP-RJW 11-03-2018 10:57 AM

Won’t go far anyway, so I wouldn’t be disappointed if this happened.

Russia in not a horrible country, it is a great country run by a mafia gang.

Probably not the team but I do think the foreign office should be advising against travel during the WC which would be a pretty strong message.

Don't really see how its safe for England fans to travel to Russia during the tournament.

Yeah I guess that's the most likely thing to happen. I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would want to go.

They'll only poison the ones that they think will win the tournament. Your lot should be well safe.
As for the Aussies, I think we'd nearly be top of the list;)

mayfield 11-03-2018 01:22 PM

Of course not.

Can't believe how many have voted Yes because of silly scaremongering by Biased Bullshit Corporation.
