Buying a striker January 2018 Edition

When will it happen?

Or will it happen at all...?

Buying a striker January 2018 Edition

It has to happen. We canít carry on with only 1 striker. Who is the big question, it has to be someone who genuinely is going to :

A. Push Benteke for the starting place
B. Offer something different
C. Score Goals
D. Premiership Quality

Think it will be a player we’ve never heard of

Thefunkymonk 03-01-2018 08:38 PM

I think it’ll be someone like Danny ings

costello 03-01-2018 08:39 PM

Will be really tough. 6-7 teams in the PL all going for a striker. A good striker will blow most of our budget. Suspect we will go for one cheap option (League 1/2 or 35+) and toss our hats into the ring for bigger names.

Sturridge

davemorris04 03-01-2018 08:45 PM

Would love a goalscorer. Makes such a difference.

If he can do C then the other three boxes are automatically ticked.

Got to be No1 priority , if we only sign 1 player this window it just has to be a striker , it's the missing part of the jigsaw for us to have a half decent team , Sturridge would be good although there's always doubt over his fitness , maybe Roy has got his eye on someone from abroad.

Walcott wants game time for England chances

Eagle's Nest 03-01-2018 09:16 PM

I'd consider Callum Wilson.

There is going to be A LOT of Premier League teams who all feel they at risk of relegation with money to spend and looking for a striker in this window.

It is going to be a very competitive window I think.

With Defoe injured the chances of them selling Wilson to a relegation rival are not very high.

We should go for one of Leicesters, either ulloa slimani or iniacho, or finally get that one that won African player of the year, babacar was it or something along those lines

I'd love him here, would be superb. But they'll want a premium.

Depends on if Roy wants to go 442 or a lone physical presence.

It's a good market for forwards,

Dembele
Mitrovic
Llorente
Slimani
Carroll
Wilson
Sturridge
Doljberg
Wilson
Vydra
Gayle

If you were going to shell out the sort of money Leicester would want for either of those two, we'd be better off going for Celtic's Dembele

Sergeant

There is some talk of Walcott possibly leaving this window but what about Welbeck? Has he been injured this season? Would Arsenal consider selling?

I think his versatility could suit us and Roy used him a lot for England.
