Unsurprising but good appointment in my eyes. Worked with Souness, Roy Evans, Houllier, Sven-Goran, Allardyce, Benítez and Koeman.

Experienced, very good player with Liverpool, decent track record at Bolton working with Sam and has worked with a lot of other style of managers. Good for the side overall.
