Soul destroying result after such a good performance. Deserved a point at least. This will take a lot to recover from. Now is the time to be bold and drop Benteke who lets us down every week.

Hennessey - 4 - flapped at two simple crosses in the first half and got away with it. Rooted to his line for every corner. He was really poor. Inspires no confidence. How is he still our No 1?!!

Bissaka - 8 - absolutely brilliant performance. We don't need players like TFM when we have gems like this in our own academy. Fantastic today.
PvA - 6 - very good going forward but have to mark him down for bottling so many challenges. He is great going forward but defensively weak. Great finish though.
Tomkins - 7 - solid as ever but people were saying he may have been at fault for the first goal. I couldn't tell.
Kelly - 6 - did well at times and perhaps as well as can be expected but we need Sakho back asap.

Luka - 7 - adore this guy. Incredible workrate.
McArthur - 6 - very effective game. Another top pro.
Townsend - 7 - best game in ages. More of a threat and he actually had shots! Put in some good crosses too. Well played.
Schlupp - 6 - thought he was very effective and we looked weaker when he went off. Good return.

Sorloth - 7 - played well. Like the look of him. A striker who can actually win the ball and hold it up. Looks to be our main hope now up front.
Benteke - 5 - can't score, can't keep simple balls in when we need him to give everything. Lazy, ineffective and generally a shit striker. Why keep playing him and expecting a different outcome? If we are going down let's not do it with this serial under performer up front.

Subs
Riedewald - 6 - seemed to do ok but the shift in tactics didn't suit us. Not his fault though.

Hodgson - 6 - had to make the change at 2-0 and take the useless Benteke off and play one up top. Putting Sorloth out wide was a bad move and let Lingaard have too much space. He has limited options but his use of subs isn't good.
