Similar model is used abroad a bit more. Morata was a 2 year loan to Juve from Madrid I believe where they paid a hefty fee for him. Madrid still own the player but he gets 1st choice opportunities plus the chance to improve. Slightly different as we aren't sending Wilf of to improve but to keep him on our books whilst making cash from him. A team may pay 10m for one season to get a 60m player for one season.
