Charlton
Are tickets currently only available to season ticket holders? When will they be available to members and then general sale?
Thanks. |

Because the Police have restricted the number of away fans this is an "all ticket" fixture (so that away fans can't turn up in home areas.
online sales are available to season ticket holders and their guests only. Members can purchase via personal call or ticket line. General sales – same rules as Brighton you must have some sort of purchase history or prove that you are a Palace fan to buy in home areas. It's all a bit of a pain but we have a duty to ensure that tickets in home areas are not sold to away fans.

Have they ever sold out their allocation for Selhurst?

I don't know as we've not played them at home since we took over the club. They wanted a bigger allocation than they were allowed. I'm sure they will be over-subscribed and will sell out easily

They don't normally sell out though they do moan about ticket prices, how terrible Selhurst is nd usually that if they had a better ref they would have won

But the Police don't normally limit them to 2500 tickets

If you think about it anyone could buy a membership and tickets for the game so we have a duty to ensure that only Palace fans can buy home tickets (and memberships). Tickets are restricted to purchase on line by season ticket holders (for their guests) but members and all Palace fans with a booking history can buy their tickets from the box office without any problems. It's a pain to have to control the sale of tickets but when the number of away fans is restricted we have no choice. Palace fans should not find it too difficult to buy tickets.

Just so I understand.... You have never bought a ticket to Palace (home or away) in advance from the box office before, never bought a season ticket or a membership? And you don't know anyone who is a Palace fan who could buy the tickets for you? In that case the box office staff would err on the side of caution and think that you could well be an away fan trying it on. You could plead that you are a Palace fan and point them to this thread and your impressive 19000 post count, you could mention my name or you could ask to speak to Mandy the box office manager. Or....I'm sure that some kind soul on the BBS could buy the tickets for you?

One more question - the two boys are only 10. Where's the best place in the ground. My lad was at peterborough away and tbh it was the atmosphere more than the football that got him hooked. |

The best (livliest) atmosphere is in the Lower Holmesdale but people do tend to stand up a lot (all the time in blocks A,B,C) which is not practical for a 10 year old.
You could sit in the Upper Holmesdale (as near the front as possible) which has the best view and best leg-room in the stadium and the atmosphere drifts up from below, or the Arthur Wait at the Holmesdale End. These days even the Main Stand and the Whitehorse have a great atmosphere. It's no problem for another Palace fan to buy the tickets for you.
