I like Arsenal. I like the way they play football. It may not get results, but I'm not bothered about that.
Suck it.

Some quality washing dirty linen in public going on now.
Public letter from the Uzbek chap to the board saying they should be putting as much money as Barca, Real and Manchester City into the club.

An Arsenal fan's perspective on the matter.
At first he just sits there mulling over the news, gently seething at the injustice, then starts to tell us how he feels about the situation, stating out the facts as detailed on RVPs website before going into a De Niro-esque meltdown. For those with the attention span of a gnat ff to around 3:30 onwards where you see the dawning realisation that Bentner was far better than RVP followed a dose of retribution via the medium of FIFA 2012

I can't stand Arsenal to put it bluntly.
Arsene Wenger is a whinging cock. Arsenal fans are normally similar. |

Hes getting on a bit now so icould be his last chance for a move for RVP to win something. Arsenal wont win anything again this season so hes leaving so win trophies. His contract runs out, he owes them nothing. Simple.

Dont mind Arsenal personally. Every year Wenger loses a top name and doesn't replace them with the same quality. But he still manages a top 4 finish year in year out. Much prefer them to chelsea and spurs.

"Arsenal are set to take highly-rated French teenager M'Baye Niang on trial.
The 17-year old forward, who scored twice in 14 starts for Caen last season will link up with the Gunners this week." The most predictable team in the transfer market in the history of the game.

I hate Arsenal less than I hate Man U, Chelsea, Spurs, Liverpool and Man City.
That is all I have to say on the matter.

For us older fans I find all of this quite funny. For years Arsenal were a massive club and would rob other teams of any decent player ie Wright. Now they have fallen so far behind Man city, Man U and Chelski, they cant compete and it drives their fans mad. They hate Chelski for no reason from what I can work out other than jealously and really most of them are a very sad, post premshit supporting bunch of muppets.

Palace were not robbed of Ian Wright. Arsenal paid £2.5m for him, which I think was the second highest ever transfer fee paid by a British club the time (Liverpool had bought Dean Saunders for £2.9m just before then IIRC). Also it is not as if Wright was not happy to join Arsenal. As for them being a massive club for older fans. Arsenal only really became a consistent top 3 side when Sky started. Before then they tended to finish in the top 10, but normally not in the top few places - other than I recall them winning in 88/89 and 90/91, but if Nick Hornby is to be believed then they hadn't won the league for 18 years prior to that. So if you can remember when they were a massive club and won consistently, then you must be very old indeed as you can remember the Herbert Chapman days in the 1930s.

What I meant was a bug club in fan base and history. I understand what you are saying about wright, my own feelings of what he did when he was there and how much they paid for him colours my judgment I think

Definitely the most corporate fans around, all the people I know who support Arsenal love the whole Sky Premiership hype best league in the world thing, love EPPP, think it's great that only a handful of clubs can dominate the league and having great banter with other glamour club fans, etc, etc. |
