Roy Lunnis R.I.P.

I have been advised that sadly a former Palace player Roy Lunnis passed away towards the end of January after a long illness, he was aged 70.

Roy signed professional forms in April 1960 having been on the club's books as an amateur (connected to Carshalton Athletic?) and played in the last two games of the 1959/60 season.

A tall and well built right back, Roy was with the club for three years making 27 appearances usually deputising for Terry Long or Johnny McNichol in that position.

In May 1963 he joined Portsmouth and after that Luton Town (briefly) together with spells in South Africa and America.

Our thoughts are with his family and relatives at this sad time.
