Ostersunds FC's Europa League success

Have not seen a thread on this yet so I thought I would create one.

Anyone been following this swedish team's success in Europa league?! They are managed by an English manager Graham Potter they have a very small budget but have found unlikely success in Europa League. They plucked a few gems in the rough including some Englishmen from the conferences one of which (Jamie Hoppcutt) who scored an amazing winner in the first leg and they ended up knocking out mighty Galatasaray in qualifiers and got a standing ovation from their ultras!

Links to first and second legs

They are now top of their group with 7 points, a group that includes Atletico Bilbao and Hertha Berlin! They beat Hertha 1-0 and Last night they drew 2-2 with Bilbao.

Really an impressive story if you want to read more theres a good article here

Beggars the question of why don't we take a look at some of their players, surely worth sending a scout to watch some of their games to maybe unearth a hidden gem?
The same applies to Eibar in Spain, a club of similar size who have more than held their own in La Liga for 5 seasons now, we Must start to exploit these markets.

Except... This is only their fourth season in La Liga.

AND they only stayed up at the end of their first season as Elche were booted out of the division for financial irregularities otherwise they finished bottom 3.

Oh alright 4 seasons if it pleases you, but in any case that is some achievement for a club that had a stadium and gates of around 5/6k, and to survive have had to sell some of their best players, just imagine Palace chances without WZ and a couple of other "stars" would be a hopeless cause.
So yeah, it has been a wonderful achievement even if they have not won La Liga to appease you

They also technically got relegated after one season. You forgot that part.

Knowing our luck if that happened in England they would still relegate us and promote the play off losers instead.

10th under Pardew? That was with Wilf, although he wasn’t a star man that season at all.

Well unless suddenly it's a whole new league then 3rd is still our top division best finish.
