6 month loan to prove himself in the PL might suit him. If the deal then allows us to buy him or PSG to accept any higher offer, everyone could be satisfied by that - at least till the summer.

Option to buy would be better. If he proves to be a success, some other big club would take him and we would be back to square one.

As the quoted post says, the player might want to have that opportunity. Yes it would be a disappointment to us in the summer and we would have to find 2 keepers but if the initial loan has kept us up then job done and at least we would have a chance of a permanent deal.

That would be "the half of Prem clubs" who already have very decent goalkeepers.

Liverpool, Southampton, West Ham all have average goalkeepers who could definitely be upgraded on. I don’t even know who Watford’s first choice keeper is or if he’s any good, possibly them too.

Heurello Gomez, Brazilian signed from Spurs. He's a good keeper and a very decent shot stopper. Now 36 though.

Barring injury I don't think Trapp will get into the Germany squad. He has to hope Neuer doesn't recover from his injury. Ter Stegen has been decent for Barca this season and Leno is in fantastic form for Leverkusen right now.
