Done well from this run of fixtures. Could even be another one at city next week.

Bump.

7 to go.

When I started the thread we had zero points, I thought we needed 12 wins to pull it round. Looks like we need 4 wins and 4 draws to get over the line. 9 wins in total.

Bump.

The above post was after our first points of the season, at the eighth attempt.

Well, I was wrong about not finishing as high as 11th, and we didn't need 12 wins, only 11 (the 11 draws also helped!)

It's always enjoyable to read the doom-mongers' posts a few months down the track with the benefit of hindsight.

Reading this back, I'm tempted to give up my tried and trusted pessimistic ways as far as Palace are concerned. Trouble is, as soon as I start believing I'm convinced we'll be relegated. Tough times for a dyed-in-the-wool doom-monger

Interesting that Southampton survived with only seven wins.

I wonder is that a record. Also would any team have ever gone down with at least 10 wins since the 20 team league started.

Not that interesting. See my post on the front page . I managed to convince myself it was possible to stay up with just 7 wins to reduce the mental pressure in the dark times.

I don't know how I came up with the idea of 12 wins. Maybe I thought with 31 games left we needed wins to make up for the bad start.
Roy had a good crack at it tho.

There is something so uplifting with hd's posts. Quite one of my favourite posters on the BBS.
