I reckon the wind made a big difference. In the first half it looked like Townsend was running on the spot - though the pitch looked massive for some reason from where I was. In the second half, their keeper couldn't get the ball over the half way line

Thought Luka was particularly poor in 1st half, almost incapable of passing the ball to a palace colleague.

After an hour would have given MotM to Hennessey as at least he was the least inept of the XI.

Had to give my vote to Sako at the end, not for what he in particular did on the pitch, but the whole team suddenly awoke from stupor and pressed Saints hard.

Can we vote for Roy instead?

Roy must have had a hell of a team talk at half time as there was a total transformation in energy and intent. I now rate him as our best manager under our current owners (Pardew was excellent in his first year but having got into a total rut and the worse manager in the UK he didn't have the Holloway to do the right thing. Just get the feeling that he is a decent and honest guy with as much enthusiasm as he had years ago. He and his assistants were off their seats non stop trying to gee the players up. A real 10 out of 10 performance.

i think some sort of recognition should be given to steven reid and the fitness coaches and the players themselves. excellent season defining performance as far as i was concerned .had us down as 2 nil loss as thought we would be knackered.......far from it we finished strongly. very encouraging and for the first time this season genuinely looking up.......lets try and catch burnley by starting with a win over them !

Never known a Palace side so fit and seems to finish games a lot stronger than literally everyone we play.

Always fancy us to score late on especially with the never say die spirit that has been engendered into the group.

As said previously all the coaching staff deserve massive praise along with the players who have bought into it.

Let's keep it going as we are only part of the way there.

Realistic? To get to 7th place? That requires us to get 12 points more than the 7 clubs above us and at least match any club below us over the next 16 games?
Anything's possible but realistic is a bit of a stretch I reckon. I admire your ambition but prefer Roy's more conservative approach for now. sorry to be a party pooper

It looked a good quarter or half inch too long. Like the difference between a centerfold from 1973 vs 2018.

But we have to play every team still other than Southampton, Man City and Swansea. So not sure the order of those matches makes that much difference. I hope you guys are right. I would be over the moon but right now I prefer to keep my feet on the ground and keep up this run. If we can shake ourselves free of the bottom 3 over the next 6 or 8 games it will make things feel a lot better but I suspect we will still be nervous until the final weeks.

No one said it was realistic to get 7th place, but that it is realistic to catch Burnley - if we beat them there'll be 9 points between us with 15 games to go. Not an outrageous target IMO.

Steady on beat Burnley and people will start talking about a European spot.

11th to 14th will do me.

I'd gladly take 17th if it was offered now. Going to be very tough but fortunately a load of sides are in the mix, and everyone will be taking points off everyone else. I think we'll just about have enough to stay up but much depends on who we sign this month.

Come on mate up your game. The boys are buzzing at the moment, each fully understanding their roles and the system Roy demands.

I think Cabaye and Schlupp both shouldn't have started. They were both knackered 10 minutes in. As soon as they both left the field you could see the immediate improvement.

How we won that game, I'll never know. Luckily we came across a team much worse than us.

Credit to Jimmy, Sako, PVA and Luka. Everyone else was a bit meh.

Do you mean based on the 1st half and keeping them to one goal?

If you mean the overall game, I think you're wrong. I thought we thoroughly deserved the win based on keeping them at only 1 goal and gaining in strength whilst they were wilting. We not only won the tactical challenge, but the physical and stamina challenge too and could have easily gone on to win 3 or 4 - 1.
