Hope Birmingham go down. That game when they went mental when Ian Wright scored. Police horses etc.

I know a bloke from Sunderland, long-suffering fan, and I asked him if he thought they'd go down, reset and come back anew. He reckons they'll just keep on sliding down the leagues, there's no redeeming features at the club at all.

Quite a strange spectacle, a club that has collectively given up.

God feel a bit sorry for them, imagine having to live in Sunderland AND your only escape from the misery is supporting your local team, I don't really have much against them TGH.

Brum on the other hand... I'll be delighted to see them drop down again, I was at that infamous match standing in the side of AW right next to the away corner, I'll always hate those *****.

Always thought Coleman was on a hiding to nothing going there.

A near 5 year malaise

I think he has a highly inflated view of his own ability.

Time will tell.

They're talking about Rodwell on Talksport and whether he should be sacked for refusing to play. Surely the football authorities need to look at how to protect clubs more in these situations? Similar thing sent Portsmouth to the dogs and we all know about Mutch.

I think there should be a rule in football where your basic wage can only be 50% of the potential total. Players have way too much power and yet it's always the fans that ultimately suffer when it goes wrong.

If we did get relegated this season then our wage bill would be scary for the championship.

It happened to Coventry didn't it. It's worth following this story but I suspect it is going to be more like Bolton or Leeds. Drop into League 1, get back up but then struggle to make much impact for some time. Leeds obviously these days are aiming for the play offs but how many years has it taken them just to reach this point.

A 10 mega-ton nuclear device was detonated in the City of Sunderland yesterday. There are estimates that up to £5 of damage may have been done It really is a shlthole
When Niall Quinn and his mates took over the club, there was always a feeling they were being well run. Fck knows what's happening to them now

Agree about Coleman but one thing we should consider is this little chain of events:
If the FA had not taken Allardyce from them and lets be fair the timing was shit and messed up their summer, he may well have kept them up against the odds again last season, and we could have been down in their place. Either way I reckon Allardyce would be gone from them by now and they would be struggling still, but it's a sobering thought.

Who draws up these contracts. Who is going to object to a clause that you have to play and have to try?
