Internet forums attract loonies. Who would have guessed! (you know who you are).

The only reliable rule you can apply to the internet is that pretty much every conversation will turn into an argument. If it was like that in real life we would all spend 50% of our lives hospitalised

Only got to about half hour in but it's very upbeat, which is refreshing given the drivel I read every day on here which you subconsciously get sucked into.

Agree, feel reassured that I am not living in a parallel universe where everyone can see the end of the world apart from me

Back on Pod 244. Im not sure why Kevin Day and James Endercott get so worked up about not hearing interviews from Dougie Freedman, firstly they answer their own point on why we hear from managers and not from DOF’s, it is because manager’s are obliged to, Im not sure if it is contracted but is the norm. Do you not think that the communications out of the club are centralised? They cant just have Freedman talking to the press on a wim, and for what purpose? To tell us the players we didnt sign which we probably go for in the next window. It’s all a need to know basis, and we dont need to know. What other DOFs do you regularly hear from? The communications of the club are handle through Parish, Hodgson and Gierson, is that hard to understand?

Also Kevin Day gets upset we didnt sign Hugil but signed Sørloth over him, even though he admits himself he has never heard of the player or bothers to keep tabs of the Championship. I just dont know how you can be so worked up about not signing a player you never heard of.

As for the Daily Star reporter, I thought it was pretty ignorant when he said he couldnt be bothered to find the ‘ø’ to spell his name correctly....

Otherwise good pod haha.

Some top points made about Sorloth debut from whats his name, about not judging either way too soon. Very reasoned man and best guest I think.

Maybe try to avoid talking about pancake toppings for longer than you talk about the debut of our new signing, drags a bit.

I believe Kevin Day mentioned, though wouldn't go into, something about when DF left for Bolton that he was very offended by. It is possible he still harbours some dislike that would explain this seemingly exaggerated outburst.

Personally, whilst I hope DF thrives in this new role, I will be quite happy if I don't have to hear him talk much.

Tony Pulis taking over the shambles from Holloway after 4 points from the first 11 fixtures and finishing 11th far greater achievement than survival this season after taking control of this squad after 4 games without a victory. We had a far inferior squad and in truth we were in a worse mess in terms of the standard of performance.

Incoming managers always talk up the difficulty and there is no doubt pulis, Allardyce and Hodgson have all had their work cut out but I don't see Hodgsons task as any more difficult to be honest. Far less so than Pulis and only marginally more so than allardyce on account of budget and january spend.

Only one team had ever survived relegation from the Premier League after five games without a win (Everton in 1995). We then went two further games without wining or scoring. Historically that makes it the most impressive survival (should we survive) IMO.
