Rakip took his goal well...although what was the pass at 1m25s all about..at first viewing I thought it was another defence splitting pass, till I realised it was the second half !

And unfortunately Jarek looks a bit lost at 1m55s
and then theres a blatant push in the box at 2m17s.

Their first run-outs of course, but those looking for inclusion in first team action anytime soon; I wouldnt hold your breath.

Lets hope they pick up the pace soon. Good luck lads.

Anyone that went care to give us a report on their first starts ?

Think Jach is the most likely to be able to play for the first team since he's an international. Rakip looks very much like cover.

I am starting to believe he is going to be the most pointless loan ever. At the moment it just feels like we are developing Benficas player in our reserves.

Sounds more like an extended trail with agreed fee to me

Obviously someone has seen some potential in there. I suspect they want to figure out if it’s ‘coachable’. I’m addition to that we’ve got some emergency cover while being slaughtered by injuries but aren’t committed to long term cost

Probably shrewd move if we had, had success in other deals

Gavin Mahon, was the most pointless one or that dutch winger, who I can't remember

I know it was only a 2 to 3 minute highlight clip of the U23 game v QPR, but he seemed involved in every move Palace made, including some good passes, ball control, and God forbid taking the corner we scored from.

Looked pretty strong pushing forward in the attacking midfielder role. Has the look of a younger, fitter Cabaye about him.

Who knows what level he's truly at, but if Benfica signed him he must have something about him. Their recruitment is amongst the best in Europe.

Hopefully he's that midfield spark we're really lacking at the moment.

Yep, looked good going forward and carried the ball well. Can deliver a good set-piece delivery as well.

Gareth Williams looked like the next Matt Jansen for the reserves.

Unfortunately he played more like Trevor Benjamin without the talent for the first team.

Rakip could be a good player, but he's cover, not a starter.

Strange and pointless signing. Totally a token signing that doesn't help us survive. We needed quality players who were ready to improve the team, we got a terrible mix of weak options for the bench, in positions that weren't critical.

Why would you not sign a winger, goalie and a ready to play centre back?

It's nearly March. Surely a signing that we really needed would be a player who had come in and made a difference by now? Don't forget the window opened on January 1st. So many games have gone by now where we desperately needed other options. No slight on this guys' ability, but if he's not gonna be able to contribute then what is the point?

The pessimism about this guy is amazing, he is an attacking midfielder who could make a difference.

i got gareth williams terribly wrong as i may yet do with ryan innis .
this lad from the qpr highlights looks way above the rest so promising but we we ill only truly know by seeing him perform with the first team.

Actually, the coaching staff got Gareth Williams spot on. They were "strangely reluctant" to give him a first team opportunity, despite almost unanimous fan lobbying and demands. Just shows we are mostly better off trusting the professionals.

Forest also had a young hot-shot midfielder called Gareth Williams, at the same time, who also faded away as a "prospect".

Rakip looks far more advanced in his development.

Just watched the highlights. Rakip looks like he could be one hell of a player. His passing is intelligent and focused on setting up chances. He is in every bit of the action. If we have a clause to buy him it could be one hell of a bit of business. He has what Clyne and Wilf had - class
