Of course it will, even if we go down due to pi$$ poor planning there will be massive demand for corporates when we play likes of Fulham, Preston, Brentford, Ipswich etc

Ghettos are where existing places get worse. FWIW the new corner will be a new place and the AW will have some improvements including improving the eye line and some modifications to facilities.

The whole new main stand is not just for corporate clients - there will be a lot more regular seats than corporate ones in that stand alone.

SP can be criticised for main things, but your comment is not fair at all.

I also object Elgin!

I hate it that 12,500 general admission seats be available, with more leg-room, toilets and better facilities all round. Awful Parish and his sinister ways.

It is appalling to think a Lionesses or England U21 fixture could come to Selhurst Park with the pitch extended... that the pitch comes a metre close to the Holmesdale thereby enhancing its potency as our 12th man is also an outrage.

Shocking that the TV gantry can finally go allowing people in the Arfur to have a better view of the pitch.

Could go on... and on.

Torn by all of this tbh
Would like to see the Whitehorse built back to the size it was before that scumbag sold it BUT will always dream of the NSC, so really think this is a bit too early and expensive
KEEP THE FAITH NSC FOREVER

Fair enough, they are valid points. Well apart from the number of normally priced seats or distance from the pitch they will be. But let's ignore all that.

But surely debate shouldn't be stifled about what will happen to the whitehorse as a result, or the dangerously unsafe condition of the AW? Are these not just as valid points as well?

Time to rename the thread Money Stand development thread surely. For that is what this is. I don't expect any main standers to agree though, they will be gaining a lot at our expense.

The Whitehorse is so hard to do anything with. An additional tier would be tiny and would have sit on top of Sainsbury’s. Have you been to QPR? At the top of the second tier you can barely see the goal. Not cost effective.

I suspect the Arthur will at least get a new roof at some stage but in the mean time the plans do add facilities.

Criticism is fine but the plans are not just about a Main Stand rebuild for corporate customers. Every area of the ground is factored in.

The corner Infil between the Holmesdale and Arthur a case in point; a great way of enhancing the atmosphere and with a new concourse and facilities. And a roof which wasn’t on the original images.

I think it annoys nearly everyone on this thread that you're so negative about such an exciting time to be a Palace fan. I've been going since 1986 and I can't remember feeling this good about the club. Don't get me wrong, the late 80s and early 90s were great, but for me there was always that feeling it was all going to come crashing down, which it inevitably did of course.

New developments at the club, whether it be on the playing, or operational side usually divide opinion, seen regularly through debate on the here. I don't agree with a lot of that opinion of course and it does frustrate me from time to time, but not anywhere near as much as your negativity does.

Out of interest, why didn't you answer Billy Rhino's valid question? Perhaps you chose to ignore it because you knew your answer wouldn't echo your sentiment from the rest of your posts here, or perhaps you just didn't see it, in which case I will give you the benefit of the doubt.

Change my mind about the main stand design/layout? Of course not, it's still the wrong angle and full of corporate.

Would I be happy to see the land behind the goal bought back instead of a player? Helll yes. That should be the first step in any properly thought through stadium renovation.

Happy now, knob neck? Apologies for the delay to your service.

Ooh almost missed another reply. Must be slipping. Sorry knob neck.

Lengthening the pitch and cutting the rows out makes development of the whitehorse practically impossible without buying out Sainsburys. Perhaps that is the plan to force their hand? As it is now with the boxes removed it would be possible to build a steep sided stand going up over Sainsburys roof, but would probably require some steel reinforcement to stop fans landing in the fruit n veg aisle.

So if that did happen then why is it such a big problem? Every football club of our size has a decent main stand with corporate facilities, and we are in direct competition with those clubs so increasing our revenue is very important.

Re atmosphere I agree it is important to try and make it as good as possible but ultimately it is fans who create the atmosphere, not the stadium. I was in the Holmesdale Upper for the Burnley game and despite winning I thought it was the worst it's been there for many years, with the best most people were doing was clapping along to some of the songs.

Building a suprastadio won't solve that problem at all, only the fans as a collective will. Why not try and start up a singing section in the Whitehorse? Being next to the away fans I'm surprised this hasn't happened already.

Doesn't really seem worth the hassle TBH. Not sure it is a part of the plan that is impressing anyone, and I'd rather keep what capacity there is at the WHL end.

It must be to do with the target number of wheelchair spaces we have to fit in (as a 34k stadium), and the club not wanting to put loads of these spaces in the new stand?

Although we joke about it, I do wonder if many wheelchair fans would want to literally be in the firing line.
Another thing about moving the pitch closer to the Whitehorse is will the current exec boxes be able to see the goal? I'm not convinced and knowing us we'd be the only club with restricted view exec seats.
