Easy peasy!
Will never happen - please refer to my post at 14708 for a report on the architects’ presentation to a lunch at Selhurst a few weeks ago. The quality of television pictures in a major determinant of stadium design these days and a pitch with a north-south axis and the cameras in the western (I.e. new Main) stand is the only option. 99% of the time you won’t see anything other than the first ten rows of the Arthur.

Cool looking stadium. I like the way the seats are right up next to the pitch. Doesn't look as though there's much expansion room, but I guess with the money around LA, if they ever get demand for, say, 40,000 capacity, they'll probably just build a bigger version.

Does that mean the bench etc. will be there as well? That's what the TV likes to show.

Where does that place the dressing rooms and all that, which I would have thought would be in the new main stand.

I thought we'd be showing off our shiny new stand, the benches and the players' entrance plus Crystals from cameras placed in the Arthur.

Totally confused now.

They could always ground share with The Rams and Chargers in this other new stadium being built about 5 miles away. This one will hold 70,000.

Alternatively you order from the Argos full range on their website and have the item delivered to the Sainsbury’s. My guess is that they must have a size limit on this, as it’s one thing to collect something like a DVD player or toy, but quite another to expect Sainsbury’s to store a sofa for you!

I’ve done something similar when I’ve ordered from the John Lewis website but picked up the item next day from my local Waitrose, as that’s just down the road for me.
Thanks for that. Sounds like a half/half option which will only suite more organised people who can collect next day deliveries. Still, it obviously means they have done spare storage capacity somewhere so if this is successful it's not good for us, unless it is just a last gasp attempt to make the store profitable before they close and sell to us?

Assuming we can get that slither of car park for the new stand then we can probably just play the waiting game with Sainsburys, as like Celestial says they do appear to be on a slippery slope.

I work at locks sains and the Argos warehouse holds 7,000 lines. And they reckon they can deliver other lines within stated dates too. Sadly us staff are paying big time for Argos and the way Sainsburys are going.

There is probably more in the pipeline, but getting the new main stand would be a massive hurdle to overcome in getting the rest of the stadium up-graded (over time).
I'm sure they'll be plenty of pre-match TV coverage of the new stand. Also having the TV cameras in the new stand would mean better crowd shots of the HF/lower Holmesdale, but of course most of the action would be on the pitch anyway

Unsurprisingly it appears the Sainsbury's car park issue is still to be resolved.

It all comes down to money at the end of the day. SP talks about the need for people to be sensible, however he needs to also recognise that CPFC need to deal with Sainsbury's more than they need to do business with us.

And with it being proposed that much of the Exec car park will operate as a 'Fan Plaza' on matchdays, even more so.

If the council can CPO the wooderson houses and land they're on then why can't they do that with this bit of land we need from Sainsburys? Genuine question as I don't know.

The Council doesn't need to CPO the Wooderson Close houses as they already own them - they are Council houses. They are accepting that Palace will not only rehouse the tenants locally, but also provide replacement houses of the same size somewhere else in the Borough

It is hoped that CPFC can buy the one privately owned house and the land they need from Sainsburys without the need for a CPO, as it is a long slow process - it would be preferable to all concerned if Palace could successfully negotiate on their own!

Is this the same Steve Parish who doesn’t want the club to be battling relegation every year. The same Steve Parish who wouldn’t turn down Real Madrid if they come asking for Alan Pardew

Wasn't there an area under the holmesdale that was never finished. I'm sure I read something about it being flooded. There were the steps that went down from the stand but they were blocked off.
