He was pretty quick to drop Hennessey for Speroni earlier in the season. Should do now if the new goalkeeping coach thinks so as well. Fingers crossed.

Wayne is clearly streets ahead.

Because playing for Wales is equivalent to playing for Brazil, isn't it?

Just like playing for Palace is equivalent to playing for Barcelona.

I am not someone who is overly critical of WH, but surely you are joking.

Aren't you?

To expand on the above, I would play WH against Chelsea, but make it clear that his place is under threat. I don't think DC is like WH. I think he may be no better on crosses, but is probably a better shot-stopper, and better at communicating with and organising his defenders. I think DC is more like JS than WH.

Having watched a few videos of Cavalieri he plays a lot like Jules. He's not bad at stopping Penalties either by the looks of it. TBH he's probably similar to Jules in ability also just a tad bit younger. I think I'd rather give him a go than Wayne though. He can't be that much worse and the competition might give Wayne the boot up the bottom that he needs.

It's a big risk if he comes in and ****s up, you've further destroyed Wayne's confidence.

It's not like he has a lot to begin with. Getting dropped last time actually led to a bit of an improvement. He's conceded 7 goals in three matches.

All down to him and nothing to do with defending? Wonder why some never want to see Delaney on the field again?

Yeah, but, for example, the way that cross went straight through his arms on Monday was seriously and frighteningly bad...

He was at Liverpool for 2 years and never played a premier league game. He was sold to Cesena by Roy Hodgson. He only played League Cup and early UEFA Cup games. Doesn't fill me with confidence.

Hodgson said at the time that he wanted to keep him, but he wanted regular first team football

Pepe Reina was the goalkeeper, didn't get injured and didn't get suspended. Virtually no other goalkeeper would have got a Premier League game, under those circumstances. No shame in being a reserve for him, when he was in his prime.

I think we're stuck with Hennessey now sadly until the end of the season. Just need to hope he doesn't play again like he did on Monday. Hopefully the return of sakho, ward and Kelly will help him.

And then he is likely to keep position until he makes an error or gets injured. That's Roy's way.
