Emmerson Boyce

Seeing Boycie score for Wigan today got me thinking about whether he scored for Palace. I see on soccerbase that he scored one league goal. I can't remember it, who was it against?

It was against Coventry in 2005.

He also scored another goal but unfortunately it was the one for Brighton in the game we rather forget at Selhurst.

Coventry @ home, November 2005.

A certain Wayne Andrews also scored in the game.

Was that when Wayne spanked one in early on? I just can't recall Boycie's goal despite being there. Anyone care to describe it to see if my grey cells can chug into action. Was it at the Whitehorse end in the first half? Header? Tap in?

Really liked Marlene. Good player. He's also got a case for being one of our most successful ex players of recent times. Anyone else more successful?

I wasnt at the game, but it's up here on soccerbase:

Boycie was a brilliant player though. Always felt assured when he was occupying the right back position.

I was certain that Dowie would bring Boycie into the centre after relegation. Surprised he didn't and I think history proves that an error by Dowie. After Tuesday he's currently streets ahead of Iain's fav Onesize

Boycie's goal against Cov was scored from a corner I think. Either a header or bundling the ball in after a knock down.

I thought scored a couple for us too. Can't remember the other though.

Didn't he score against Tottenham when we beat them 2-0 at SP? I have a picture of him in my head celebrating in the net in front of the Holmesdale.

No. We beat Spurs 3-0.

Scorers were Leigertwood, AJ and someone else. Not Boyce though. Granville?

He scored against sheffield wed and some places gave it as an OG, but I'm sure someone on here managed to get a bookie to pay out on it.

It looked a clear Boyce goal and a lot of people were surprised that it was given as an og by anyone

Back to the original question, he scored against Man City away in the 3-1 defeat January 2005.
