Don't agree. Bide our time until some of those out there start getting desperate for a club and are prepared to sign on reasonable terms. They might even respond by giving their all for the club.

Wonder where you saw that Al

As for signing's, there are plenty of players available now (most contracts usually run out end of May or start of June) but we seem to be dragging our heals. Perhaps because our scouting network is not what it once was ?

Being specific to Adebola, he was out of contract and hadnt been offered a new one at Birmingham so was technically a free agent, we didnt transfer him fom anywher other than the dole!

Mr Kember is targetting a striker and midfield "General" but for obvious reasons he does NOT wish the names to enter the public domain.

Every pre season there is all this talk/ speculation of whos moving where, it so annoying, you try not to get caught up in it but you do ie the Beckham affair. But this year i hav not heard any 'speculation' of who is coming to us, frusrating but i suppose good, but i wonder who we will see here next season? ant thoughts................

I'd like to see us try and snaffle Shipperley and Connolly from Wimbledon. Now that they have slipped into administration, I really thinks it's time to pounce.

Why would Merson drop back down a Division when he can have a swansong in the Premiership?!

I'd rather Borrowdale, Williams, Watson and Routledge were regulars than we sign any new player. But Noel Whelan would be an excellent replacement for Adebola, and there's got to be tricky winger in the lower divisions to replace Gray - maybe Micheal McIndoe of Yeovil. Or even Lee Cook of Watford if we could afford him.

I do also think we could do with an experienced head or too when the going gets tough - maybe a Les Ferdinand or John Collins.

I'd like us to buy Hayden Mullins for 700k for one season. Think he could be just what we need for promotion.

Maybe we could get Matt Jansen from Blackburn as he is way down the pecking order at the moment.

the reason we might getmerson is because hes not agreed a new contract yet at pompey

redknapp wants him to train everyday now there in the prem unlike twice a week as he was in div 1 and merse isnt sure whether he wants to and hes not sure whether he can cope with a season in the prem

How many did Owusu score for wednesday? I don't think he exactly lit up the league.

Now Wimbledon are in administration, I reckon we could get Shipps for a reasonable price. As stated earlier in the post, John Collins might be a decent shout.

...........or perhaps the clubs have simply learnt not to speculate about signings until they are settled. Enough people have been calling for them to do that on the BBS. Now they may be they are accused of dragging their feet.

Can't win can they.

Without a direct comment on Wimbledon, it is a misapprehension that a team / company in administration always needs money. Often all they need is a period without having to pay their bills, and without the risk of being taken to court over it. Given a financial breather and the chance to reschedule loans and other debts many simply carry on.
