Same story in NOTW.

Assuming the reports on the BBS are right, and we've only paid £1.5m up front and none of the add on clauses have been realised - how much of a loss will Jordan be prepared to take?

I'd take £400-500k from Ipswich. Any less than that and we might as well just keep him as a reserve striker.

It's not what he's worth to us, it's how keen Ipswich are (after their good win yesterday). I would hold out for £1M.

Good news if true. He's had a full season with us and a full pre-season under his belt and still looks as bad as when he first came to us. Anyone thats says he's worth a further season to prove himself is in cloud coo-coo tbh.

I suspect the fee will indeed be around the £500k mark if he goes, and under the circumstances that wouldn't be too bad a result imho. As you said, the rumors are that the actual fee paid so far was much less than the quoted £2.5m (I hear £1m rather than £1.5, but who knows), and if we could get around half of that back I'd be happy under the circumstances.

Even if we needed to let him go for less than this, it might still be good business under the circumstances. I really don't think it will EVER work out for Kuqi at this club (more because of the fit between club and player not being right than any inherent shortcomings), and I suspect that he's also one of our highest earners.

If a player is going to cost (for example, I dn't know the exact figures) in excess of £1m over three years while contributing next to nothing, simply removing that liability (a la Macken) is a good thing. The ability to recoup some of the capital loss is almost a bonus.

Good post.

Ipswich fans seem keen: http://boards.rivals.net/default.asp...oid=2117201074

Would be a very good move for him too.

Is it too late to get a replacement? I would sell him but not until we line up someone else.

If we are being offered good money for Kuqi, I wouldn't worry too much about the replacement issue to be honest. Kuqi is not going to be an irreplaceable loss to the side, nor is he someone who will generate the kind of fee who will cause potential selling clubs to ramp up their prices.

I would simply take the money, and look to move forward from there. Yes we would be short on experienced strikers, but even if the window shuts before we bring in a permenant replacement, the option of a three Month loan would still be in place if we needed more depth. Surely better that than to lose an opportunity to recover some of the Kuqi fee and see his value fall further between now and January

Well put Jason.

I think Jordan likes to impress the fans sometimes by quoting the total possible fee paid as the transfer fee instead of the initial outlay.

Wasn't it around 250k the first down payment for akinbiyi?

If we got anything like 1/2m i would bit their hand off.

Kuqi not rubbish, its just that some players dont suit certain clubs and their style of play, so they become a bit of a Misfit.

Forest fans don't think much of Dougie, and i know Ipswich think well of Kuqi.

Maybe with the wages saved from the sale of Kuqi we would maybe stretch out to the loan singing of Sinclair?

This obviously depends on how close we were in agreeing the original deal. If it was say 1 or 2k a week then maybe we would be interested again?

Exactly. I think the loan window closes a month or two after the transfer window, anyway. Ipswich could be a goer as he is still held in high regard there. My only worry is if he may be on high wages here and that Ipswich can't afford him.

TBh as long as we can sell him, we would be better off even if we bring no one else in, at least it would make a space on the bench for one of the younger strikers

He wont go, he was just as much in transition as everyone else and deserves a second season to prove himself. He came for a big fee true, but lets see what he can do...

I wish this would come off, just watching him yesterday made me realise just how bad he really is. I have wanted him to prove everyone wrong so badly and was one of those who last year insisted he would come good and rub in in people's faces.
