Billy Bonds breaking his leg
One of the first Palace matches I remember seeing was when Palace played West Ham and Billy Bonds broke his leg.
Having tried to find out when this was (sometime 1968 to 1972?) I have so far failed miserably. I tried in the CPFC 25 year history, but this starts in ?1972 - so I think it was before then. I tried a Palace book I have, with a forward written by Arthur Wait - but it ends with the promotion to the first division. Can someone help my ailing mind? |

I saw most of the West Ham games that would have involved Bonds but don't recall him breaking a leg, however my memory is not what it was

I vaguely remember Ronnie Boyce breaking his leg at Selhurst Park in a 0-0 draw around about that time.
Not sure anyone was hard enough to break Bonds' leg. |

Through the mists it is coming back. Was this the game we drew 1 -1 and david Payne scored, a thought anyway.
